Hong Kong’s beloved “ding ding” trams have been rolling through the streets since 1904, making them one of the oldest electric tram systems still in operation today.

In the early days, factory workers, students, and families would hop aboard these open-air, wooden-seated trams to get to school, work, or the market. For just a few cents, they were part of the heartbeat of the city.

Today, these double-decker icons still glide along the same tracks—preserving the rhythm and stories of old Hong Kong, one bell ring at a time.

Flaky, golden, and straight out of the oven — say hello to Hong Kong’s famous egg tart! Our guests got to taste this iconic pastry fresh from a beloved local bakery during our food tour, and trust us, one bite is never enough.

A perfect blend of British and Cantonese influences, the egg tart has a silky custard center and buttery crust that melts in your mouth. It's not just dessert — it’s a bite-sized piece of Hong Kong’s colonial past and culinary creativity.

Our small group food tour guests are digging into a classic Hong Kong comfort food combo — wonton noodles and tender beef brisket, served piping hot in a no-frills, family-run eatery.

This is where tradition lives — thin egg noodles, rich broth simmered for hours, and hand-wrapped wontons bursting with shrimp. More than just a meal, it’s a taste of local heritage you won’t find in tourist spots.

Hop aboard one of Hong Kong’s most beloved modes of transport — the Ding Ding! These charming double-decker trams have been running since 1904 and remain an affordable and eco-friendly way to explore the city.

During our walking tours with Hello! Hong Kong, we love including a tram ride so guests can experience what it’s like to be a local for a day. With its slow pace and vintage charm, the tram gives you a unique window into everyday life in the city, gliding past bustling streets, heritage buildings, and modern skyscrapers.

🛤️ Local tip: Sit upstairs by the window for the best views!

📍 Add this to your Hong Kong to-do list for a nostalgic, one-of-a-kind ride.

On our Hong Kong Island food tour, guests don’t just taste local dishes — they dive deeper into the flavors and stories behind them. One highlight? Visiting the famous dried seafood streets, where rows of shops display abalone, scallops, mushrooms, and more.

Hong Kong has long been a major trading port, and dried foods were essential for preservation and nutrition, especially before refrigeration. These ingredients remain staples in Cantonese cooking for their rich umami and health benefits.
