Moller Villa, located in downtown Shanghai, was founded in 1936 after 9 years of construction. With a total area of about 5,000 square meters, it is a villa in the style of Norwegian architecture of northern Europe. Reputed as a Villa of Dreams, this villa blends in oriental characteristics with western architectural style. Moller Villa used to be the private residence of Moller Eric, a British merchant who came to Shanghai in 1919. To make his beloved daughter’s dream come true, the castle-like villa was built based on Andersen’s fairy tales.
