We did so much in one week...!
Hiking and biking in Plitvice Lakes, Paklenica and Krka River National Parks, rafting on the Zrmanja River, Zadar old town, and chilling in our seaside villa on Brac Island.
The best part was enjoying Croatia in the company of amazing people.

We visited the Coconut Prison on Phu Quoc island.

Built by the French and later used extensively during the Vietnam War, this prison became one of the most notorious detention sites of the conflict. The South Vietnamese government, backed by the US and fighting to preserve a Western-aligned state, held thousands of North Vietnamese soldiers and Viet Cong fighters here. The North, fighting for communist reunification and independence, sent many of its bravest into these grounds. What happened to them inside is difficult to witness even today.

The prison depicts the torture methods used to extract information from prisoners. One of the most quietly heartbreaking corners was a ceiling hung with cigarette butts. Survivors who had escaped through hand-dug tunnels shared that for most prisoners, the deepest wish wasn't freedom — it was simply a cigarette...

Our guide called it "hell in paradise". Phu Quoc is considered a true paradise, a generous island with a warm climate and fertile lands. Right here within it sits this place, a reminder that there are always two sides to every coin. It exists not to blame any side, but to honour those who suffered here and to remind us to cherish the peace that so many, in so many parts of the world, are still being denied.

We travel knowing we are lucky to be on this side of that reality, and places like this make sure we never forget it. As usual, it is ordinary people caught between powers far larger than themselves, paying the highest price.

Vietnam Retreat, 1–10 March 2026 🇻🇳

Difficult not to fall in love with this country. ✨

Ho Chi Minh with its brewing energy, food, motorbikes, sounds, sights.

Phú Quốc Island — beachfront resort, yoga, a boat trip to Starfish Beach, the bee farm with its extraordinary honey and what might be the best kombucha we've ever tasted 🍯, a cable car ride across to Pineapple Island, floating restaurants on the water, foot massa, body massa 😅 and glasses raised with locals cheering "Hai, ba, yo!" 🍺

We still have a few days left to enjoy on Phú Quốc. Stay tuned 🛵🌺

Adventures in our home country of Croatia will be marked by a mix of traveling yoga adventures and dedicated vegan journeys, moving through breathtaking landscapes and combining must-see highlights with off-the-beaten-path locations. Although all our retreat destinations are attractive and interesting in their own way, for us Croatia remains the most beautiful European country — objectively and subjectively! 😉💙

In southern Vietnam, we’ll experience the vibrant rhythm of Ho Chi Minh City before slowing down on Phu Quoc Island, with its temples, incredible food, and barefoot days on the beach.

Hungary calls us for a retreat on a peaceful island in the Danube, located right in Budapest — a serene slice of nature and spa in the middle of this vibrant cultural city.

Spain invites a gentler pace, with a Mediterranean retreat in a private villa designed for rest, savoring meals prepared by our chef, and discovering the charm of the surrounding area.
