On April 18, 2011, in Afghanistan, Explosive Ordnance Disposal officer Lisa Head approached and neutralized an IED, saving lives. Aware of a possible secondary device, she returned to ensure safety and was critically wounded in a second explosion. Remaining conscious as her team worked to rescue her, she passed away the next day at 29. Lisa faced danger twice without hesitation, demonstrating extraordinary courage, selflessness, and dedication. Her heroism under extreme risk left a lasting legacy, inspiring others with her unwavering commitment to saving lives in the most dangerous circumstances.
