Unexpected visit to Villányi Vörösbor Fesztivál / Villány red wine festival in Hungary. The festival was held on Friday-Saturday-Sunday of the first week of October in one of the most well-known wine regions of Hungary called Villány. The red wine festival was full of activities, programs, food, wine and people. As we decided to visit Villány on Thursday we could not manage to register for the programs that otherwise would have been super fun😣 the festival organized vineyard tours, wine tastings and even masterclasses for everybody who registered on time. However we still enjoyed the day with plenty of wines, street food, local products, demonstration of old cars and locals who played musical instruments and sang wearing national costumes. BTW I have already made a reminder in my calendar for the next year's festival to register and be able to participate in the rest of the programs 😂
What about wines?🍷we could find some of the largest wineries offering the tastings in the streets of Villány and few smaller wineries as well!
We tasted quite a lot of Villány Franc, which actualy is Cabernet Franc, from 4 wineries:
✅Gere Tamas es Zsolt
✅Lelovits
✅Jekl
✅Vylyan
All of them were quite interesting and Jekl Villányi Franc 2013 was so pleasant to drink, very well balanced.

🇬🇪გაგიგიათ ოდესმე ვილანის ღვინის ან ვილანის წითელი ღვინის ფესტივალის შესახებ? ვილანი მდებარეობს უნგრეთის სამხრეთით და გამოირჩევა სხვა რეგიონებთან შედარებით უფრო თბილი კლიმატით, სადაც საუკეთესო წითელ ღვინოებს აყენებენ. ვილანი ცნობილია Villányi Franc-ით, რაც იგივე Cabernet Franc-ია, მაგრამ ყურძნის ეს ჯიში იმდენად კარგად ეწყობა ადგილობრივ კლიმატურ და ნიადაგურ პირობებს, რომ სახელიც კი ადგილობრივი მოარგეს. ყველაზე კარგი დრო გვიანი გაზაფხული და ზაფხულია ვილანიში წასასვლელად, მაგრამ ოქტომბრის წითელი ღვინის ფესტივალიც მშვენიერი მიზეზია შემოდგომის ვიზიტისთვის.
წითელი ღვინის ფესტივალი გრძელდება სამი დღე და თუ წინასწარ დარეგისტრირდებით, შეძლებთ ისეთ პროგრამებში მიიღოთ მონაწილეობა, როგორებიცაა ვენახში გასეირნება, ღვინის დეგუსტაცია და მასტერკლასები. უნგრელი მეგობრის წაყვანა არ დაგავიწყდეთ, რადგან ეს ყველაფერი უნგრულადაა 😂🍷

Many hours of planning and hard work resulted in this beautiful event with some of the top Georgian wines and snacks from our country. Churchkhela, Chiri, Tklapi, Nuts, Sulguni cheese, Kakhetian oil, Mchadi and Tone bread were not missing either! If you have ever been to Georgia you would know how tasty these snacks are ❤

The wines were and the day was so special because of our guests who knew so much about Georgian wines and were so interested in the topics we discussed.
