Dear jungle family,
I hope you are all doing well, wherever you are in the world.
I am very sad to share some difficult news, on September the 22nd, a strong storm hit Bukit Lawang and caused big trees to fall onto our newly opened Eco Tourism Bukit Lawang Bungalows. Three of our bungalows were badly damaged, two are destroyed completely and multiple have obtained significant roof damage. Because of this, we have had to close the bungalows and restaurant for now.
This is very hard for our family. We just opened one month ago, and we were so happy to welcome guests to our secluded jungle paradise. My wife Maya, who is also our chef, is expecting our third baby in a few days. We also support a community of workers and families who depend on the running of our business and the income from treks and the guest house.
With no insurance and significantly reduced income now, we are asking for some help to rebuild and reopen. A good friend helped us create a GoFundMe page to raise money to repair the bungalows and support our family during this time.

If you are able to donate, we would be so grateful. If not, sharing the link would also help so much! Thank you for supporting us and helping keep our dream alive.
We hope to welcome you back to Bukit Lawang soon.
With love and gratitude,
Putra & Maya
