Ok this is actually a bit of a parenting win 😅

Wise now has a Young Explorer Card for kids (6–17) and I’m slightly annoyed I didn’t know about this sooner…

You link it to your account, but they get their own physical/digital card and access to their own app🙌

So for Bali:
– Load different currencies
– No more handing over your card every 5 seconds
– You can still control everything from your phone
– No monthly subscription like some other kids cards (winning 🙌)

Thinking of riding a scooter in Bali? 🛵🌴 Read this first…

Hiring a bike in Bali is EASY — no one really asks questions about your licence 😬
But the real question is… are you actually insured?

A lot of Aussies assume their car licence covers them to ride a scooter overseas 🚗➡️🛵
👉 It doesn’t.

Most scooters in Bali are 125cc+, which means you legally need a motorbike licence — not just a car licence.

And that “international licence”?
It’s only a translation of what you already have. It doesn’t magically let you ride a motorbike.

👉 To legally ride, your International Driving Permit must have Category A (motorcycles) stamped — and this must match a valid motorbike licence from your home country.

Now here’s where it gets risky ⚠️
Some insurance companies might still cover you… but many won’t.

👉 Most policies require:
✔️ A motorbike licence from home
✔️ A valid International Driving Permit (with Category A stamped)

No correct licence = very real chance your claim gets denied

So before you hop on a scooter…
✔️ Check your policy
✔️ Ask your insurer
✔️ Get it in writing

Because if something goes wrong in Bali… it’s not just a holiday story — it can be a very expensive mistake 💸
