Each village has a variety of activities; there is something for people of all ages and abilities. Our Village tour program fall into three main categories: cultural, culinary, and education farm. Despite having an itinerary, the beauty of Kalakijo s trips is that many activities just happen naturally as you become part of village life.
During a village tour, you may find yourself making batik, preparing lunch, helping your homestay family make emping, or even playing soil on the farm with the locals after a busy day. In the morning you will go to explore the amazing rural area of Kalakijo by bicycle. The village is well known as the center of batik making. You will also see how the villagers make Emping, a type of Indonesian chips traditionally handmade in a labor-intensive process.

You will have lunch in our Bamboo Hall and enjoy delicious traditional lunch at our Socially Responsible Ingkung Kuali Restaurant. After lunch, we will introduce you to our Environment Education Center (EEC) farm, long term farming project with three core principles: Permaculture, Education and Local Empowerment. In our farm, you can learn the basic idea of permaculture such as planting vegetables using sustainable seeding trays at the nursery station, mixing composting station, or feed the animals at the animal station.
