It was a beautiful day on The Dingje Peninsula today along The Wild Atlantic Way

From Castlegregory on the north side, over The Conor Pass and a drive around Slea Head with a stop at Dunquin Pier for refreshments and brownies at Cupán Sé.

On a wet Saturday in Dublin we visit Áras an Uachtaráin - the official residence and principal workplace of Ireland's president.

Afterwards, we toured at Windmill Lane Recording Studios - originally opened in 1978 and has lots of top acts recording there including U2, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, and many more. A great tour and a must for music fans.

Finally, a visit to EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum which covers the history of the Irish diaspora and emigration to other countries. 20 different galleries reveal how Irish emigrants who had an influence on other parts of the world.

The Devil's Bit Mountain in County Tipperary rises to just over 1,500 feet offering fantastic views of the rich fertile land that surrounds it.

According to local legend, the mountain got its name because the devil took a bite out of it. There is a small gap in the mountain between one outcrop of rock and another small plateau. The legend says that the devil broke his teeth taking this bite and spat the Rock of Cashel from his mouth to where it now stands.

A beautiful day yesterday around County Wicklow (The Garden of Ireland).

Picked up from Azmara Quest cruise ship in Dublin and visited Powerscourt Waterfall, The Sally Gap in The Wicklow Mountains, Glendalough Monastic site and Avoca Wollen Mills.

On the summer solstice it was great to visit Drombeg Stone Circle in West Cork along The Wild Atlantic Way. The stone circle is thought to date to approximately 3,000 years ago.

Drombeg is aligned with the setting sun of the midwinter solstice, an important time in the ancient calendar as it marked the shortest day and longest night of the year.

Minard Castle, Di**le Peninsula, County Kerry.

Overlooking The Atlantic Ocean and with views across to The Iveragh Peninsula, Minard Castle is a mid-16th century Fitzgerald castle.

The storm beach of Minard is considered one of the finest of its type in Ireland: great boulders rounded by the sea and then thrown onto the shore during storms tumble down to the waters’ edge.

Final visit of the year to County Kerry this week in beautiful autumn sunshine. Great views along The Wild Atlantic Way and through Killarney with stops at some favourites including Skelligs Chocolates and Kerry Woollen Mills.

Today's tour started at Inch House, Country House in Tipperary and took us through the country roads of North Kilkenny and South Laois before arriving in Kilkenny City.

Some off-the-beaten track stops included Grangefertagh Round Tower, Cullohill Castle, Bunlacken and Gathabawn, and Clomantagh Castle and Church.

In Kilkenny we visited Kilkenny Castle, St. Canice's Cathedral and The Black Abbey during a walk around the city.

… in 1601 Spanish ships arrived to help the Irish fight the English occupiers. After defeat at The Battle of Kinsale many Irish chieftains left Ireland for Europe never to return, a journey known as The Flight of The Earls

… on May 17th 1915 The Luisitania was torpedoed and sank just off the coast with the loss of 1200 lives

Today, Old Head Golf Links attracts golfers from around the world and the surrounding countryside is abundant in rich farmland.
