📍 Guagán Barra 🌿
Ní hamháin an radharc a dhéanann an áit speisialta - is iad na daoine agus an fháilte chomh maith.
Scéal álainn anso le Niall agus Katie ó Óstán Ghuagán Barra 📸
Faces of Gougane Barra — Neil and Katie 📸✨
We went to Gougane today for a walk around, and I thought it would be lovely to include Neil and Katie in my Faces project 📸
We called into the hotel, and before you even step inside, there’s a lovely welcome at the front door:
“Welcome to our family-run Gougane Barra Hotel, celebrating 6 generations of family business in Gougane Barra.”
While Neil was busy at reception, myself and Colette took a wander inside and spent a bit of time looking around at the local history 🏨
After a while, Neil was finished at reception and we came out to meet him. Straight away, he knew Colette from her previous years working there — and what a welcome she got 😊
I was telling Neil about the project, and he already knew I had photographed a few familiar faces around the place. I asked if himself and Katie would mind being part of it, and off he went to find her.
Katie was busy for a few minutes, so we happily waited over a lovely coffee and a few chocolate chip cookies made in the hotel ☕🍪
When Katie came out, she gave us such a warm welcome too, especially to Colette. The chat between us could have gone on all day, and the best part was the pure laughter and skits we all had.
That’s what I loved about today. It wasn’t just Gougane for the scenery. It was the welcome, the history, the people, and those little connections that make a place feel alive 🌿
A big thank you to Neil and Katie for taking the time today and for being part of Faces of Gougane Barra 📸✨
