🥾🍂 Explore County Cavan: Have you discovered the views from Mullagh Hill yet?

Sometimes the best way to appreciate Cavan is to lace up your walking boots, head for the hills and see the countryside from a different perspective! 💚

This week's Explore County Cavan spotlight takes us to Mullagh Hill Walk, just outside Mullagh Village.

Starting at Mullagh Lake, this moderate hillside walk follows good paths uphill, with picnic benches along the way and beautiful panoramic views waiting to reward your efforts. 🌳

📍 Start & Finish: Mullagh Lake, on the R194 Virginia Road, just outside Mullagh Village

🥾 Grade: Moderate

🌿 Terrain: Hillside walk on good paths

🚗 Parking: Available at Mullagh Lake

From the car park, follow the main road towards Virginia for approximately 300 metres, taking care along the roadside. Look out for the hill walk sign on your right, then follow the path uphill. Return along the same route, taking care when crossing the road.

The countdown is on to Cavan Eco Féile, taking over Cavan Town from 23rd to 25th October 2026! 💚

Cavan's flagship sustainability and innovation festival is bringing together live music, local food, family fun, creativity and big ideas for a greener future. And there's plenty happening across all three days!
