Aisling Naval Experience

Aisling Naval Experience In the process of raising capital to preserve Aisling's rich naval history by transforming her into a local business with local people berthed in Cork city

The Goal of Aisling Naval Experience is first and foremost to preserve an important part of Irish Naval history for future generations to enjoy. We do not want her to share the same fate as her sister ships, especially LE Deirdre, the first purpose built Irish Naval Ship, which is now scrap metal. We plan to do this by turning LE Aisling into an interactive multi-purpose facility, which will attra

ct visitors from near and far to Cork, and will provide employment not only on the ship but to the greater Cork area.

It's hard to write this but we tried our hardest and came so close. We would of liked to have been in a better position coming up to the auction and we were even in contact with the buyer Dick Van der Kamp, but sadly they are continuing on with their vision for L.E Aisling.

We wish them well and hope that Aisling is treated with the respect that she deserves, and who knows what the future holds we may see her again in Irish waters.

Thanks for all the support and for all the pictures that you shared with us
