We are off again to the Tourism Ireland Destinations event at Milwaukee Irish festival...which is also the biggest trad music festival outside Ireland.
Off to Chicago now and hit Milwaukee on Thursday morning. Our stand will be along side the main Tourism counties of Ireland Clare. Mayo. Dublin. Galway. Limerick. Cork. Leitrim..

Follow our progress as we promote our fab county for tourism from the USA into Ireland and specifically to grow Monaghan both as an ideal holiday location and also as a hub for travelling g around the north and northeast of Ireland. Sean Rocks. What sad and shocking news. This photo taken by me in Sean's Arena studio in RTE on April 27th. I was there with members of the Bow Brothers doing a promo segment for Féile Oriel.
I knew Sean virtually all of my life...many days spent in his parents home in Drumbear...as I went to school with Gráinne.
Then as Sean emerged as a significant actor in 1994 he played that memorable role in Pat McCabe's Frank Pig says hello....from.the award winning book The Butcher Boy.
He and David Gorry blew the audience away ...the night we formally launched the Garage Theatre..
Sean was a giant in the Arts scene in Ireland. I don't need to expand on that here.
He was also a very proud Monaghan man.
In 2021 when I approached him to be on the judging panel in our search for a county Monaghan anthem, he readily agreed.
He was SO professional and practical and pleasant and wholly accommodating.
Sincere sympathies to Catherine their two sons...his brothers Padraig, Ciaran, sisters Siobhan and Gráinne
To all his close friends and colleagues ...of which he had many.

Last night at the annual Clones Family Resource centre AGM.
What a night of celebration of all great community-based support in Clones and surrounding villages.
With The Different Keys Choir, The Mullaghboy accordion band and The Brazilian gospel choir.
Fair dues to all the committee, board members and staff....and a special shout out to Angela Graham who has done trojan work over the past decade consolidating and leading the charge on such a vibrant, productive, results driven community development programme.
It was truly uplifting to see cross community/ multi ethnic collaboration at work. The entire focus and raison d' etre of this project unites and solidifies the entire community...supporting those in need at every level.
Well done to all involved and to the management of The Creighton Hotel who put on a great experience.

By the way....we note that Barry McGuigan will be in the Monaghan Peace Campus, tmrw, Saturday 7th...as part of the 40th anniversary of his major title win in Las Vegas...if u want to meet the "Clones Cyclone" himself in person.
