Another day and the last day’s adventure with Shamrockroutes ☘️☘️☘️,for Ken, Denis and their partners from California 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Yesterdays tour started early from Powerscourt Hotel. The sun was shining and no rain. We arrived in the medieval city and our first visit was Kilkenny Castle.Built in the 12th century. This castle has been owned by the Butler family for nearly 600 years. It is built on the banks of the river Nore. Everyone enjoyed the castle tour and lots of photos were taken.
After the castle visit we travelled to St Canics cathedral. Such a magnificent gothic cathedral built in the 13th century.Inside the cathedral are ancient tombs. Our guests really enjoyed this visit . They also climbed the round tower and took a view over the city.
We left Kilkenny and went for lunch in Carlow .The food was delicious,I had lunch with the guests . We had a great laugh and craic .
Our next visit was a request by Ken . He wanted to buy a (Shillelagh Stick) to bring home as a wall mounted sovereign.I took them to a shop in the village of Shillelagh. I rang the owner earlier in the day and arranged a shop visit for Ken. He spent half an hour looking at 100s of different sticks and purchased the one he liked.
Last visit of this tour was the famous Powerscourt Waterfall. It had rained on and off for a few days before this visit. We all went for a walk over to the waterfall. Took some beautiful photos. Then after our visit it was back to the hotel. A final goodbye.
