A magical, fun-filled visit to Disneyland Paris last week ✨💕

We were lucky enough to stay in the stunning Disneyland Hotel, the most beautiful hotel and such a perfect location! The only problem now is it’s going to be hard to stay anywhere else 🫣

We crammed as much as we could into our time, spending a full day in each park, as well as time at the hotel where we met princesses, did the Royal Banquet dinner, went swimming and lots more! The new World of Frozen in Adventure World was fab and we loved the classic rides in Disneyland Park too. So much to do so I would definitely remember a minimum of three nights 🤗

My highlight was the My Royal Dream Makeover, where Caoimhe was transformed into a real-life princess. Yes it is expensive, but the look on her face and the memories we all have from it is absolutely priceless 🥹

The weather wasn’t on our side at the start but thankfully things picked up...Definitely different to Florida where at least when it rains it’s warm rain 🥲

Don’t be fooled by all you see on social though, things weren’t perfect and there were plenty of tears and tantrums, but is it really a trip to Disney if there isn’t?! 😋

A special few days ❤️

Hi everyone, please read a little update from me below 🤍

I’m going to be taking some time off work over the next couple of weeks. I’ve debated whether to share this, but I’ve built my business around me as a real person, so I think it’s ok to be open and honest about this, and hope you feel the same. This year has been a difficult one for us. Sadly, over the past six months I’ve experienced a few miscarriages and after another loss this week, I’ve realised I need to give myself a bit of time to just reset ❤️

I know I haven’t been as present on here or as quick to reply to messages or get quotes out as I normally would be, so I just wanted to share a little insight as mentally it’s been so overwhelming and all-consuming at times. If I was taking time off for other reasons I would say why so I don’t think this should be any different, and would rather that than have people think I’ve disappeared or just got really bad at my job 🥲

I am so lucky to run my own business that I absolutely love, but when things are tough it can be hard being a one-man band 🫣 So for now I’m stepping back a little, but please don’t worry, everything is still running as normal. All new enquiries can still be sent via the enquiry form in my bio, DM, WhatsApp or email, and either I or one of my lovely colleagues (who have kindly stepped in to support me) will get back to you. If you’re travelling soon or have an upcoming booking, you’ll still be fully looked after as always so please don’t worry about that 🥰 And I don’t want anyone to feel like they can’t message as normal, I’m just taking on a bit less so please please get in touch at anytime as usual 🥰

We’re taking Caoimhe to Disneyland Paris next weekend, so for now I’m just going to really enjoy that special time with her ✨ And I’m sure I will still be sharing lots on my stories so you’ll probably be sick of me anyway 😋

Thank you so much for all your support, patience and kindness, it really means a lot ❤️

Such a lovely break away this week with an overnight stay at the beautiful new Bedford Hotel Belfast 🥰 It was Niall’s birthday on Monday and he was off work all week, so we thought it would be a good chance to get a wee (childfree 😋) break away. It was a bit of a late decision so when I was looking up where to stay I noticed the opening date for the Bedford Hotel was brought forward to that week, which worked perfectly for us 🤗

We headed up early to enjoy the day, I had actually hoped to be there when the doors officially opened at 12pm as I thought they might do a ribbon cutting, but of course we were running late so missed it 🫣 Check in is 3pm so didn’t expect to be able to check in early or the room be ready, and just planned to enjoy some food and drinks first. We got the loveliest surprise though when we arrived, as we were told we were the first checking in and received the loveliest flowers 🥰 Definitely a pretty cool thing to be able to say 😋

The hotel is absolutely stunning, the decor is gorgeous and the rooms are some of the nicest I’ve seen in a while. Really spacious with a big comfy bed, huge bathroom, and my favourite part was the wee tea & coffee nook, like a mini pantry. It’s something so simple but so different, and leaves so much more extra space in the room 🙌 And the location couldn’t be more perfect…right beside City Hall!

As you’ll see from the photos the majority of our stay was based around food and drink… standard for us 🥲 We had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the hotel, along with plenty of drinks to accompany, and every single thing we ate and drank was 10/10!

Price wise I would say it is fairly comparable to other city centre hotels of a similar standard and location. Our room for the night with breakfast included was £190, of course we stayed midweek which is likely to be less than a weekend stay, but again I’d say competitive with other hotels nearby. Really impressed with the beautiful hotel and hope to see them doing well 👏

Back to reality tomorrow, the eating & drinking are over (after tonight’s takeaway 🫣), the big shop is done for the week and it’s back to school and work in the morning!

So who was watching the new series of Race Across the World on Thursday? 🌍 Let me know below👇

Definitely up there as one of the best shows on TV! I don’t watch loads of live TV, but I love this (along with another of my favs The Traitors 😏). This series they set off from the beautiful island of Sicily and its captivating capital, Palermo ✨

Palermo is pure chaos in the best way, full of colour and history…think buzzing markets, golden beaches and the most unbelievable streetfood! Sicily has such a sense of character, blending cultures like nowhere else, from ancient ruins to volcanic landscapes, and of course, it is home to Mount Etna, Europe’s most active volcano 🌋

Also a random fun fact, Sicily is widely credited as the birthplace of Gelato 🍧 Going wayyy back to Arab influence, when snow from Mount Etna was mixed with fruit and honey to create early sorbets! So if you’re in Sicily, you HAVE TO try the gelato!

If you haven’t watched it already, you need to catch-up now and tune in again on Thursday night 🤗

Dealing with the Middle East crisis over the past few weeks has been a powerful reminder of the value of booking with a real person…and not just a website 🙈

I’ve been quiet on here, but behind the scenes it’s been all go, and this is exactly where having a travel professional in your corner makes a difference. It’s not just about booking a holiday, it’s about having someone there for when things don’t go to plan…which as know, can unfortunately happen!

So what exactly is it I’ve been doing? Well here’s a brief insight 👇

- Getting clients home safely. Actively monitoring situations and flight status’, securing seats (often before options become widely available) so clients haven’t been left stranded or stressed.
- Taking care of those in-resort. Making sure accommodation is booked (and covered financially as part of Travel Counsellor’s protection policy) for those whose flights have been cancelled.
- Saving trips where possible. Working behind the scenes to amend rather than cancel, where it’s safe and feasible to do so, by rerouting flights away from the Middle East for example.
- Rebooking future travel. Proactively reviewing upcoming holidays, making changes early and offering alternatives to protect my customers’ plans and avoid disruption.
- No call centre queues. While many are spending hours trying to get through to providers, my clients have direct access to me, with immediate action and updates. Saving their time and patience!
- Full financial protection. Securing full refunds for trips that have been cancelled, thanks to Travel Counsellors’ package protection. Refunds swiftly processed as well, no waiting months to find out if and what you will get!
- Accessing flights before public availability. Using industry systems to secure limited seats, especially important when demand is high…believe me seats were like gold dust!
- Calm, personal support. Offering clear and honest advice throughout, so my clients know their options and feel supported every step.

I could honestly sit and talk all day about it, but to sum it up (and not bore you all 🫣) it’s all about personal support, protection and having a real person there who cares for you 🫶

Tonight we stood to remember Amy Doherty and to say - enough is enough, this cannot go on. We have to fight this plague that has taken hold, however that might be.

Hug your children tight tonight. No words are enough 💔

Remember every one of their names, each one is a life too many lost 😔💔
*(I’m so sorry, I see Katie Simpson’s name autocorrected to Marie in the post 😔 I can’t change it, but of course remembering Katie too ❤️)
