Neantóg Cottages

Neantóg Cottages Self catering accommodation It is a very scenic area (in the shadow of the majestic Benbulben) and very close to the sea (Donegal Bay). Hot water by immersion.

Neantog Cottage is a beautifully restored traditional stone cottage on our organic small-holding near the village of Cliffony in North Sligo off the Sligo to Donegal road (N15). You can walk down to secluded sandy beaches in 20 minutes, drive to Mullaghmore-harbour in 5 minutes, walk to Creevyceel Court Tomb in 30 minutes or cycle around the Horse-Shoe-Glen in 2-3 hours. Golf courses and Riding Sc

hools are nearby. Lomax Boats organise boat-trips to Innismurry-Island. The coastline from Strandhill to Streedagh to Rossnowlagh/Bundoran is a paradise for surfers with surf schools in Strandhill and Bundoran. Both villages have seaweed baths to relax and re-energize. Cliffoney Village is a 15 minute walk away. There is a shop and two pubs, one with a restaurant. Yeats Grave is in Drumcliff and now has a visitors centre and a coffee shop. You can climb Benbulben or Knocknarea. One of the famous restaurants in the Northwest is The Courthouse in Kinlough, a 10 min drive away. Celtic History is at our door step, Creevykeel Court-tomb is literally around the corner, Carroowmore Megalithic Centre is near Sligo, Parkes Castle at the shores of Lough Gill and Queen Maeves grave on top of Knocknarea. The Cottage sleeps 4 and is suitable for 2-4 persons or a family with up to three children. It has an open loft above the living room, a bedroom and a bathroom with toilet and bath/shower. The kitchen is fully equipped, including herbs for cooking. A cast iron stove in the living room burns turf and wood. There are also electrical radiators in the bedroom and the bathroom. There is no TV, but plenty of books and board games and some toys. No Pets Please. We sell fresh homemade sourdough and spelt breads and seasonable vegetables. There is a health food store and 2 delicatessen stores in Sligo and also the weekly Sligo Farmers Market on Saturday morning.

Neantog Cottage is a great place for a short break or a longer holiday. Situated just outside Cliffony on the Wild Atlantic Way between the mountains (Benbulben) and the sea (Explore Mullaghmore). Gaby and Hans Wieland started their organic farm here in 1987, they still produce vegetables, bake bread and occassionally produce cheese as part of their courses at Neantóg Kitchen Garden School. Your stay will be a culinary experience and you can book a reflexology and Naturopathy session with Gaby. More information here:http://www.neantog.com/cottages.html
