Located near Blessington in County Wicklow, Russborough House and Park, is a magnificent 18th-century Palladian mansion renowned for its architectural elegance and rich cultural heritage. Designed by Richard Cassels in 1741, the house is set against the scenic backdrop of the Wicklow Mountains and surrounded by beautifully landscaped parklands.

Highlights of a Visit to Russborough House:

🏰 Architectural Splendor
As one of Ireland’s finest examples of Palladian architecture, Russborough House features grand facades, ornate interiors, and exquisite plasterwork. The guided tours offer insights into the lives of its former residents, including the Beit family, and the house’s storied past.

🖼️ The Alfred Beit Art Collection
The house is home to the Alfred Beit Art Collection, which includes masterpieces by renowned artists such as Vermeer, Goya, Rubens, and Gainsborough, considered one of most important private collections.

👨‍🎨 Murillo’s The Prodigal Son Series
A current highlight is the exhibition of Bartolomé Esteban Murillo’s The Prodigal Son series. These six large-scale 17th-century paintings, illustrating themes of sin, repentance, and forgiveness, have returned to Russborough for the first time in over two decades. Restores over six years by the National Gallery of Ireland, the series is on display from March 1 to May 31, 2025, as part of the guided house tour .
