I hope you will be inspired by the beautiful mosaic of communities, cultures and nature wherever we go together. What is the meaning of LALELA? Lalela is a word in isiZulu meaning ‘To Listen’. I was inspired by the friendship story of two great conservationists, the late Dr. Ian Player and the late Baba Magqubu Ntombela. On their many journeys together in the African wilderness, Magqubu, who was Ian’s bush guide and mentor used to say to Ian ‘Wosa, hlalapansi, lalela…’ (meaning: ‘Come, have a sit, listen…’) when he wanted to impart to Ian an important learning. I too invite and welcome you to Lalela (to listen)

להללה Lalela "היא מילה בשפת הזולו שמשמעותה "להקשיב
בהכנות לסרט שהפקתי באפריקה חקרתי לעומק את סיפור החברות של שני אנשי שמירת טבע מהוללים, ד"ר איאן פלייר ובאבא מקובו נטומבלה. במסעותיהם הרגליים יחד בטבע הפראי, בשמורת אימפולוזי, בדרום אפריקה, באבא מקובו, שהיה הגשש והמדריך הרוחני של איאן, נהג לומר לאיאן "ווסה, שלאלאפנסי, להללה..." (כלומר: "בוא, שב, תקשיב...") כאשר רצה להעביר לאיאן מסר חשוב.
