🌿🐟 A Call for Clean Markets in Mapusa 🐟🌿
Every time we enter the Mapusa fish market, the strong stench hits us hard. The real concern is not just the smell — it’s the vegetable waste mixed with plastic that flows into the drains and accumulates near the market. This creates a serious health hazard for both vendors and consumers.
🙏 I want to take a moment to appreciate the Mapusa Municipal workers who do such a brave and tireless job of cleaning our mess daily. You truly deserve our respect.
But we also need stronger action. I request Joshua D’Souza (MLA, Mapusa) and the Mapusa Municipal Council to kindly look into this issue and take strict steps against vendors who are mixing plastic with waste and dumping it irresponsibly.
Mapusa deserves clean markets — for the health of our people, for our environment, and for the dignity of our town. 🌍💚
