Kashmir had been on my list for quite a while and the way that I got to immerse myself and experience their day-to-day was quite profound. I had the privilege of shooting two stellar properties in Srinagar and here are some of my favourite stills.
We started our day jumping into the shikaras to catch the sunrise and experience the flower market. The locals come with the most fresh veggies and herbs, barter them with each other, and sell the rest. The flowers there were some of the most vibrant I've ever seen, and the personality of some of these boatmen selling you Kahwa tea or Palak would hands down beat any rich salesman. It felt like we interrupted a proper get-together, in the midst of a lake as they chatted and charmed us as we passed by.
Watching the sun glimmer across the Dal lake and reflect on the house boat walls, as I sipped on one-too many Kahwa's made me feel a sense of pure, aesthetically pleasing joy that was indescribable. The beautiful crispy cold weather was balanced with the real warmth of Kashmiri's and I can't wait to share more from this journey.
