The second week at Masai Mara on the Darter Photography wildlife photography tour treated us to some wonderful sightings and photography opportunities too, including:
- The Big Cats show continued, with the cubs treating us to a wonderful time. A courting pair of leopards put up quite the show one evening.
- Elephants crossing the Mara river! What a sight it was as one herd after another crossed through the river, with annoyed hippos grunting away.
- A Black Rhino in Mara! We spent some wonderful time with it as it roamed the grasslands that morning. Sadly, less than 20 of these magnificent creatures are left in the park.
- Cloudy skies on a few days meant that we got some rains, but it also made way for excellent silhouettes at sunset. And magical golden light in the mornings.
- Good birding activity through the trip. We were given a fantastic send-off by a family of Grey Crowned Cranes
It was tough saying goodbye to the rolling grasslands and the riverine forests, and all the wonderful natural bounty they hold. Can't wait to be back.
Attaching a few photographs below that I was able to process on the flight back. Hope to find some time to process more photographs over the next couple of weeks.
