GREENTRAVELLER has long valued Ethical Elephant Tourism (EET) and regularly guides travelers to Yok Don National Park. However, participating in the "Happy Elephant Footprints" event, initiated by Animals Asia (AAF) in Lien Son (Lak), deepened our commitment and led us to officially pledge our support for promoting this humane model.
To clarify, the EET program is directly developed and implemented by Animals Asia (AAF) in partnership with Yok Don National Park and the Lak Lake Historical, Cultural & Environmental Forest Management Center. GREENTRAVELLER is proud to serve as a bridge, connecting nature lovers and international travelers to the true value this initiative brings.
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗣𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗧𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗠 (𝗘𝗘𝗧)?
Ethical Elephant Tourism (EET) is a sustainable travel model where visitors observe elephants roaming freely in their natural habitat from a safe distance - with zero riding, zero chaining, and zero forced interaction.
𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗔𝗧 𝗟𝗔𝗞 𝗟𝗔𝗞𝗘?
At Lak Lake, several elephants still face heavy demands from traditional elephant riding. Promoting EET here aligns perfectly with GREENTRAVELLER’s core philosophy: Live Green – Live Slow – Love Nature. We firmly believe in a more humane and sustainable path - one that honors the natural life of elephants while securing long-term livelihoods for local communities. A beautiful journey should never come at the expense of another living being's freedom.
𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗗𝗢𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗥?
No Riding – No Chaining – No Forced Interactions: Observe elephants freely foraging, bathing, and roaming through the forest from a safe distance.
Sustainable Livelihoods: Every EET tour directly empowers mahouts, elephant owners, and the local community to confidently transition to ethical tourism.
Healing & Slow Travel: Immerse yourself in the gentle rhythm of the wild forest and connect authentically with nature.
