Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach. Kannur
Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach is a beach in the state of Kerala in southwestern India. It is located parallel to National Highway 66 between Kannur and Thalassery. This beach is the largest Drive-In Beach in Asia .
കേരളത്തില്‍ ഡ്രൈവിങ്ങ് ബീച്ച് ഒന്നേയുള്ളൂ. അത് കണ്ണൂര്‍ ജില്ലയിലെ മുഴപ്പിലങ്ങാടിനു സ്വന്തം. തലശ്ശേരിക്കും കണ്ണൂരിനുമിടയില്‍ എന്‍.എച്ച് 17 ല്‍ നിന്നും ഒരു കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ പടിഞ്ഞാറു മാറി ഒരു സ്വപ്നതീരം. മുഴപ്പിലങ്ങാട് പഞ്ചായത്തിന് അറബിക്കടല്‍ കൊലുസ്സു ചാര്‍ത്തിയ പോലെ....

ഏഴ് കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ദൂരം. 100 മീറ്ററോളംവീതി. വേലിയിറക്കത്തില്‍ കടല്‍ ഉള്‍വലിയുമ്പോള്‍ ബീച്ചിന്റെ വീതി 200 മീറ്റര്‍ കവിയും. തീരം പരന്നു കിടക്കുന്നു. 'റ' ആകൃതിയായതിനാല്‍ ഒരറ്റത്തുനിന്നു നോക്കിയാല്‍ ബീച്ചിന്റെ മറ്റേ അറ്റം കാണാം. ബീച്ചിന് പച്ചപ്പിന്റെ അതിര്‍വരമ്പിട്ട് കരയില്‍ നീളെ തലയെടുപ്പോടെ കാറ്റാടിമരങ്ങള്‍. കാറ്റാടിക്കപ്പുറം തണല്‍ വിരിയിച്ച് തെങ്ങില്‍തോപ്പില്‍ മധുരക്കള്ള് നുണയുന്ന വിദേശസഞ്ചാരികള്‍... ശാന്തമായ, ആഴം കുറഞ്ഞ കടല്‍. മെല്ലെ തീരത്തെ പുണരുന്ന തിരകള്‍ക്കുമുണ്ടൊരു നാണം കുണുങ്ങിയായ പെണ്‍കൊടിയുടെ ശാലീനത... കടലില്‍ തീരത്തോടു ചേര്‍ന്ന് പാറക്കൂട്ടങ്ങള്‍. കിഴക്കന്‍ കടലില്‍ തെങ്ങും വള്ളിപ്പടര്‍പ്പുകളും നിറഞ്ഞ ധര്‍മ്മടം തുരുത്ത്്... പതയും നുരയും ചാര്‍ത്തിയ മുഴപ്പിലങ്ങാട് ബീച്ച് ഒരു സുന്ദരി തന്നെ. ഡ്രൈവ് -ഇന്‍-ബീച്ചിനപ്പുറം മനസ്സിന്റെ ഭാരം ഇറക്കിവെക്കാനുള്ള ഒരു തീരം കൂടിയാണ് മുഴപ്പിലങ്ങാട്.

Pookode Lake is a scenic freshwater lake in the Wayanad district in Kerala, South India. The lake is surrounded by forests, and boating is allowed. Recent commercial modernisations have removed some of its wild charm. Panamaram, the rivulet which ultimately becomes Kabani River, originates from the Pookode lake.There are groups of Blue water lily flowers scattered here and there in the lake. Boats are available for rent but visitors are not allowed to pluck lilly flowers while boating. Visitors may walk around the lake. There is a children's park and garden nearby.

Varkala Tunnel is a popular tourist highlight. It was a 924 ft long tunnel built in 1867 by Sir T.Madhava Rao the dewan of Travancore, and took 14 years to complete. Varkala Lighthouse is another tourist highlight in the vicinity.
