Uttarakhand heaven on earth, earlier known as Uttaranchal is one of the most graceful state of India. It is also called DEV BHUMI “Residence of Gods”, as there are many pious Hindu temples, pilgrimage and historical places are located. The highest mountains peaks “Paharon ki chotiyan” in the world are found in Uttarakhand. The state has highly various topography, with deep valleys, graceful lakes,
snow‐ sheeted spires “Barf se dhake Pahar”,some of dusty area and an attractive pollution free environment, the simple-minded people and the tougher life. On 9th November 2000, Uttarakhand became the 27th state of the India when it was dissected out of Uttar Pradesh; it is located in northern part of our country. km, total forest area 34,434 sq. hill area 92.57% and the plains is 7.43%, Longitude 77° 34' 27" E to 81° 02' 22" E and Latitude is 28° 53' 24" N to 31° 27' 50" N; as per census of 2011 the state of the India has population of 10,116,752. The state has 13 districts; Ranikhet, Kotdwar, Didihat, and Yamunotri were declared four new districts by CM Ramesh Pokhriyal, on 15 August 2011, the capital is Dehradun and the High Court of Uttarakhand at Nainital.
