BIG NEWS FOR SIKKIM TRAVELERS! 🚁
​The Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation (STDC) has made air travel more accessible than ever by announcing a massive cut in helicopter fares for the popular Gangtok-Bagdogra route!
​Here are the details you need to know:

​INSTANT SAVINGS: The one-way fare has been slashed from ₹4,500/- to an incredible ₹3,100/- per passenger. This substantial reduction is a strategic move designed to strengthen Sikkim's tourism and boost travel for everyone.

​BAGGAGE POLICY: Remember, your baggage allowance is now 7 kg FREE (one piece of luggage).
​Excess baggage up to 15 kg is just ₹50/- per kg.

​Medical Flights Revised: Even the rate for Medical Flights has been adjusted downwards to ₹77,500/-.

The Motor Vehicles Division, Government of Sikkim,
has officially allowed fog lamps on two-wheelers
but with conditions.

They must be the correct color, installed at the proper
height, and used only during fog, heavy rain, or low
visibility.

In addition, as per MoRTH guidelines, digital RC, DL
Insurance, and PUC shown via DigiLocker or
mParivahan are legally valid and must be accepted
during enforcement checks.

Zuluk’s Old Silk Route Wins "Most Scenic Route in India"

Sikkim’s Old Silk Route in Zuluk has been recognized as ‘Most Scenic Route in India’ at the India Today Travel Awards 2025. The award was presented at The Oberoi Hotel, New Delhi, with Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat handing it over to Sikkim’s Tourism Minister Tshering T. Bhutia, accompanied by Principal Secretary C.S. Rao.

Zuluk’s Zig Zag Road with 32 hairpin bends and stunning views of Mount Kanchenjunga make it a favorite among travelers. This recognition further strengthens Sikkim’s reputation as a top travel destination, drawing adventure seekers, photographers, and nature lovers from across the world.
