It was so nice to have Esha Deol come and try Daawat-e-Kashmir by home chef Archana Dhawan at Oakleaf, Oakwood Residence Kapil Hyderabad. Being a vegetarian, she went for Kaladi Kulcha and really liked it.

Daawat-e-Kashmir, a symphony of flavours from a cuisine that is all about purity of ingredients and subtlety of techniques. The newly renovated Oakleaf Restaurant at is hosting this .in pop-up with home chef Archana Dhawan who took up the mantle of preserving her mother’s recipes and carrying the food legacy forward.

Her food has charmed the guests with its home style warmth and nourishment value, distinct flavours and soul satisfying quality.

We don’t get to meet often living in the same city but when we make time to meet, it is a riot. There’s nothing under the sun we haven’t discussed! Love that comfort and our special jokes.😋😭Sharing and caring, loving and listening. Nizami Nazrana- a Chef Pin pop-up by home chef commenced today at Tamra, . This pop-up brings Hyderabadi delicacies such as Kachi Ghosh ki biryani, Patthar ka Gosht, Mutton Dalcha, Murg Badami Korma, Bagara baingan, Khatti Dal, Dum ka Keema, Kathal ke Kebab, Gil-e-Firdaus and Double ka Meetha.

It was heartwarming to taste these dishes I loved during my stay in Hyderabad, right in our capital city. The food brought back so@many memories and that is the beauty of well cooked, home style food!

The pop-up is on until Saturday for lunch and dinner. Do give it a try. You will love it.

Iftaar Feast- A Chef Pin Experience par excellence. There’s something sublime about our culture. So vast, so enduring, so accepting and inclusive. It is only when you meet and experience diverse traditions that you learn to pick the best of all worlds.

A star lit night, fairy lights, an ornate chandelier, nawabi attire, adaabs and adaa, the serenity of breaking a fast, the faith of prayer, sharing of dates and duas, that first sip of water and that first lesson in sabr and shukr.

This one had four of our superlative home chefs and Sana Khan. The aroma of fresh sizzling kebabs and keema samosas tantalised all to the ornate buffet. So Gul’s special Raan was competing with Dania’s Talle Aloo Gosht ka Salan. If Mansi Kapoor’s kachori and dahi bade got polished in minutes, Sana’s Maash ki dal and Hari Mirch Keema were the best I have ever tasted. The competition was tough and the ladies delivered and outdid each other! Nihari and Mutton stew savoured with Shirmal and Naan, Rocky Sir’s soecial Biryani and Vidhu’s smashing dessert.

A legend such as Dr. speaking so eloquently on the tradition of Ramzaan and the significance of Iftaar!

Of course all this brought together beautifully by the vision of Sir and . It was great having wonderful event partners such as .india and Nayab. The pecans were perfect for the exotic desserts while Nayab customised beverages such as ‘Mohabbat ka Sharbat’ and Imli Sharbat.

Last but not the least our wonderful guests who bring in so much energy and charm into these gatherings.

Like a Butterfly 🦋! Yes literally like a butterfly, our home chef Mary Lalboi has metamorphed into a force to reckon with. Hailing from Manipur where her life went through many ups and downs due to prevailing situation over the decades, she had the gumption to still open a little cafe of her own in Delhi that gained popularity simply by word of mouth. Her food is pure, true to her roots and so organic. Covid came and forced her to shut down her dream cafe.

I heard of her last year from a common friend and we thought of trying her food. Everyone just loved it. These pics are from her pop-up at Westin Gurgaon in January this year. If there is one dish I would go back for seconds is her simple miso rice porridge 🥣, so soothing, so comforting. Something like a north-east khichdi but with fancy garnishes of a khao suey! Absolutely mindblowing.

Mary is ready for her 3 rd pop-up this year! Stay tuned! Coming soon at a hotel in New Delhi.

One of the most stunning restaurants we got to see during our recent trip to Jaipur. which is so captivating with it’s striking decor and luxe ambience. Seriously they had me at the pearl string lights! The place spells modern, contemporary charm with some traditional elements. Just loved the look and vibe of the place. The attention to detail is breathtaking. Kudos to restauranteurs who create such a labour of love.

The restaurant serves Italian and Indian cuisine. It has a beautiful bar that blends some exquisite cocktails. It was so nice accompanying Sir with the team and we were so well looked after.

Will do a detailed reel but these pictures on my phone just needed to get out there and be seen. Do visit this fabulous place next time you are in Jaipur!

My guilt free upma made with little millet instead of sooji. So yum, tastes even better and with better glycemic index and nutrition! You just need to soak it around 2 hours in advance. One can add lots of veggies such as peas, carrots, beans, tomato and onion. Sprinkle some lemon juice. This has become a part of my weekly routine. Slowly replacing heavy grains with these much healthier alternatives. Thank you for suggesting this. 🙏🥰

The Big F Awards! A truly glitzy affair. I attended after a gap of 6 years and the award has grown by leaps and bounds. Now it includes Delhi NCR and it was great to see the entire F& B fraternity come together to celebrate excellence with the added glamour! The distinguished jury of noted chefs such as chose the best of the best from the Delhi NCR Culinary scene.

Kudos to to have visualised this and taking it to this level. It was great to see mentor to many including self, Mr being awarded by the food encyclopaedia which is so apt.

Marking 11 Years of Culinary Distinction, The Big F Awards Recognizes Delhi-NCR’s Top Talent in 2024. Adit Grover won the Young Chef of the year. Nitika Kuthiala, a home chef associated with .in won the Home Chef of the Year award! .samanta won the best inhouse PR. Orient Express, my first work place ever, still after so many years won the best European Cuisine restaurant! Inja was awarded the noteworthy newcomer and Comorin and Vietnom were named best restaurants of the year award!

The event held at was ab absolute glitzy affair and the range of exotic cuisines laid out by the hotel was stunning! as the anchor was spontaneous and cheerful in his characteristic desi style.
