"I was lucky enough to live close to nature when I was young.
What did I learn?
I learned to be curious, to discover the world of animals, insects, flowers, plants and trees.
I also learned to be alone, enjoy myself and feel at home even far from my parents.
The best part?
I kept that curiosity today and I still love to spend time in nature every week.
It’s crucial for my physical and mental health.
In sum,
nature, hiking and trail running are part of the reason I know myself a lot more today.
I couldn’t be more grateful.."

Man’s relationship with bamboo goes back many thousands of years, it has been a tool, a food and a building material.
Over the course of our long and colorful history, bamboo and humanity have exchanged many lessons and secrets. Bamboo has inspired us with its utility, its elegance and its resilience. We have honored bamboo with art and music, and especially with words.

Remember this quote from Joshua Siskin:

“The first year it sleeps, the second year it creeps, the third year it leaps.”

Bamboo living homes incorporate green design and green construction to keep environmental impact low and to enhance indoor air quality.
Bamboo is arguably more eco-friendly than timber for home construction. Bamboo reaches maturity in just 4-6 years and can be harvested 2-3 years later, whereas many trees take five to ten times as long to be ready for harvest.
Bamboo continues to grow and sequester carbon, which doesn’t happen with tree stumps after logging.

There are also other environmental benefits to bamboo. For instance, bamboo can be used to remediate degraded land, helps retain water within a watershed, releases vastly more oxygen than the equivalent area of trees, can be grown on sloping land to reduce soil erosion, nutrient loss, and the kind of flooding and mud slides that may occur after clear-cutting and deforestation.

Humans have been utilizing bamboo as a construction material for millennia as it is light but very strong, extremely resilient to shear forces like those of earthquakes and hurricanes, and grows back very rapidly once harvested.

Then we became enamored with wood, steel, and concrete as the preferred building materials as man endeavored to build homes and buildings that would last longer, provide better protection from the elements, and reach higher into the sky. But over the last 15 years or so, bamboo is experiencing a comeback as a building material for houses as emerging technologies have made bamboo much more resilient to water, insects, and funguses which compromise the inherent structural integrity of the material

There’s nothing that will get your partner like nature more than actually being in it.
Nature is so much more than insects (which is a thing that many dislike about nature), and it’s important to get them out there in order to make them like it.
When you’re out in the fresh air and can feel the sun shining on your skin, all of your problems just seem to melt away.
Next time you feel like you’re going to explode with stress or frustration, hit the heal-toe express and go outside into the nature, live in a hut or somewhere far from the noises where its just you and your partner and nothing but nature surrounding you.

A hut is the smallest dwelling that reminds that living or building a house meant to create a wall between itself and the outside.
That the inside passes into the outside, you are almost always on the go: The forest and the lake are part of the room. In the apartment in the city you live very inward. A hut, on the other hand, is a way of opening oneself as well as delimiting oneself.

Do I ever need a roof over my head, one asks, the birds have nothing between them and the sky. This feeling has increased. There is a discomfort with the way we live, with what one has to strive for commonly, with our use of resources.

I've learned that nature is not just what we believe it to be. The fields around it, on which wonderfully yellow rapeseed blooms in the summer, are no nature at all. These are dead fields in which only what the farmer wants to live is allowed to live. No insects, no bees, no other plants. We urbanites tend to take nature as a picture and be satisfied with it. But the idyll behind it has long since collapsed.

Sleeping in the middle of woods:

In the forest during the day, you see light and shadow and blue and green.
But at night, the giant, silent trees are more like gloomy guardians. It is spooky, lying there in your sleeping bag, staring up at the looming trees that, past a certain focal point, just blend into the night.
At first, the woods at night can be unsettling, and sleeping on the hard ground was uncomfortable. But in time the woodsy bedroom can come to feel cozy, and you feel like home.

Have you ever thought of leaving the society and live in the woods?

In the middle of big old grand trees, listening to only the concert humming, thrumming, buzzing and chirping.. surrounded by just green nature - its "natural" for one to have the thought!
One running the rat race day after day, dealing with traffic, crime, and pollution -- it's so relieving to even imagine a life such serene!

"I found far more answers in the woods than I ever did in the city" - Mary Davis

Kerala: Human by Nature
Kerala in their last global compaign called "Human by Nature" showcases the co-existing nature of humans in Kerala state.
This has also emerged from a continual conversation with the travellers to Kerala who have spoken great things about their travel to Kerala and how they were left mesmerized with the stunning landscapes and nature that the state has to offer.

If you find yourself exhausted and thrown off balance, a simple way to reconnect with yourself is to spend time in nature.
Mother Nature has the power to inspire us, re-energise us and teach us things that can not be heard in the sometimes noisy and over cluttered world.

“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.” – John Muir

"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles.” — Anne Frank

Varkala in Kerala is famous for its unusual sandstone cliffs by the sea. These unique red sandstone cliff formations by the Arabian Sea will lead you to a popular, pristine beach. It is popular for its hippie culture, shacks on the cliff serving great seafood and playing global music and the samadhi of Kerala's saint Sree Narayana Guru.

You will also find a lot of shops with signboards in Hebrew selling Yoga mats, oxidised silver jewellery and harem pants made of cotton. Ayurvedic spas, affordable resorts, hostels, clean beaches make it a must-visit city of Kerala.

The Kerala backwaters, one of the best backwaters anywhere in the world and also one among the few others like Venice in Italy and the Bay Area in California.

It is a network of brackish lagoons and lakes lying parallel to the Arabian Sea coast (known as the Malabar Coast) of Kerala state in southern India, as well as interconnected canals, rivers, and inlets.

Beautiful Backwaters of Kerala is a unique and divine experience. One can enjoy a dreamy houseboat cruise on the backwaters of Kerala flanked by swaying coconut palms, postcard-like rural settings, colourful fields, and the soft melody of splashing water!

Kathakali is the traditional art form of Kerala In which “Katha” means Story or tale and “Kali” means performing art or dance form. The main theme of Kathakali is mythological stories and various popular scenes taken from epics like Mahabharata, Ramayana, Bhagavatgeetha and other holy scriptures.

It is expressed with grand and excellent hand gestures and also great facial expressions especially the eyes. They make good use of the whole stage to perform the dance.

The stillness of the backwaters of Kerala and the soothing hum of houseboat as it languidly moves through the canals are a stark contrast to anyone's mind that is abuzz with thoughts.

Vast network of brackish lagoons such as this, ayurvedic massages, wildlife sanctuaries, sprawling tea gardens, hill-stations, palm tree-lined beaches, and colorful dance forms, Kerala has everything on offer to take your pick from.

Hiking into the mountains, boating through the backwaters, cycling through the spice gardens and coconut plantations, tasting the delicious food, and exploring the beaches, of course, Kerala has it all waiting for you
