What does it mean to truly taste a tradition?

In a quiet Lucknow home, guests are welcomed not to a restaurant—but to a lived-in kitchen and a family table. This hosted experience invites you into the world of Kayastha cuisine: a lesser-known culinary heritage shaped by memory, Mughal technique, and regional roots.

Each dish comes with a story. Some from royal kitchens. Some from grandmothers. All passed down with care.

This is not a cooking class or a typical food walk. It’s a slow, intimate afternoon with food at the centre—and a community around it.

Limited seats. Ongoing dates.

Forests, ridgelines, orchard valleys, and ancient shrines—this is a trail for those who travel slow and stay curious.

The Binsar–Jageshwar Trail is a five-day Himalayan walk through remote villages, dense forests, and temple towns.

Start in Binsar, where oak and deodar trees open to panoramic mountain views. Hike to the hidden village of Gaunap, where berry trees line the trail and meals are made from what grows on the land.

Cross forested ridges and streams, walk under apple orchards and pine canopies, and spend your nights in quiet mountain homes. The trail ends in a valley of 1,200-year-old temples, where time feels suspended and the cedar trees hold the silence.

Jim Corbett’s legacy is rooted in the forests, villages, and rivers of Uttarakhand. The Jim Corbett Nostalgia Trail brings these places to life, following the same routes he once walked.

Over seven days, explore Mukteshwar, Kala Agar, and Champawat—locations tied to Corbett’s most famous encounters. Stand at the ridge where he tracked the Mukteshwar man-eater. Visit Badri’s Orchard, where he planned his hunt. Walk through Kala Agar, where the Chowgarh tigress terrorized entire villages. At Champawat, follow riverside paths that shaped Corbett’s journey from hunter to conservationist.

This trail is built on more than written accounts. Local families share memories passed down through generations. Forest paths and village homes reveal details left out of history books. Guided by Corbett experts, the journey blends exploration, oral histories, and slow travel through landscapes rich with stories.

Walk through the places that defined Corbett’s India.

Tucked away in the Kumaon Himalayas, Darma Valley is shaped by glaciers, rivers, and time itself. But its story is also told through the people who call it home.

For generations, the Rung tribe (Bhotia shepherd tribe) have lived in these high-altitude villages, moving with the seasons and keeping traditions alive. Their stone-built homes stand against the backdrop of towering peaks, while daily life unfolds in rhythm with the land.

On the Darma Valley Geological Trail, walk through remote villages, share meals made from fresh local ingredients, and experience the warmth of Himalayan hospitality. The valley offers a rare chance to slow down, observe, and connect with a way of life shaped by the mountains.

A journey into the Himalayas is as much about learning as it is about exploration. On the Darma Valley Geological Trail, you’ll be guided by Suvrat Kher ( ), a geologist whose work brings the past to life.

With a PhD in sedimentary geology from Florida State University, Suvrat specializes in studying limestones and sedimentary basin evolution. His fieldwork has taken him across diverse landscapes, but the Himalayas remain a special focus—a living record of Earth’s tectonic history.

On this trail, Suvrat will guide you through:
The Greater Himalayan Sequence—rocks that formed under extreme heat and pressure deep in the Earth’s crust.
The South Tibetan Detachment Fault—a key geological boundary that reveals how mountains rise.
The glacial deposits of Darma Valley—evidence of climate shifts over millennia.

Suvrat has been sharing his knowledge of geology for over a decade, making complex ideas accessible through field trips, online media, and science communication.

Travel through Darma Valley with a scientist who sees stories in every rock and makes the Himalayas a classroom like no other.

Some words jump out at you .. like the following excerpt from Geologist Suvrat kher's latest blog post.

"Speaking of tides, the earth's rotation is slowing down due to tidal friction......It turns out that there were about 420 days in a year during the early and middle Silurian (between 443 million to 419 million years ago). By middle Devonian (roughly 370 million years ago), the number of days had reduced to about 410...... scientists estimate that there were 370 days in a year by Late Cretaceous times (about 80 to 70 million years ago)."
