The first time you experience Teej in Jaipur, you realise it’s not simply a festival you go to see. 🌸
It’s something you suddenly find yourself surrounded by.
The colours, the traditional clothes, the music, the dancing, the decorations, the women getting ready for the celebrations… and the incredible energy that fills the streets of Jaipur.
Since living here, I’ve learned that some of the most beautiful parts of India are not found inside a monument or written in a guidebook. They happen in everyday life, when an entire city comes together to celebrate something that has been part of its culture for generations.
Teej is traditionally dedicated to Goddess Parvati and celebrates her union with Lord Shiva, with women coming together for prayers, rituals, mehndi, music and celebrations. 🌿
And being able to experience this atmosphere here in Jaipur, rather than simply reading about it, is one of the reasons I love travelling through India so much.
This is the kind of India I want to share through IndiAmo Travels — the colours, traditions, people and little moments that you might otherwise miss. ❤️
Have you ever experienced Teej in Jaipur?
