Regarding the Kaziranga Jeep Safari rates, we would like to clarify a few important points for better understanding.
In Kaziranga National Park, there are six safari ranges along with two additional protected zones where wildlife-related activities are conducted. As per the Forest Department, there is no official classification of any range as “main” or “subsidiary.” Each zone offers its own distinct landscape and wildlife experience. Preferences may therefore vary depending on individual interest, expectations, and prior knowledge.
With respect to safari pricing, the Forest Department and the respective driver unions have established a structured rate chart for each range. However, while the official components — such as entry permits, government fees, and park charges — remain fixed, the jeep component (vehicle + driver + fuel) may vary.
This variation may arise due to several practical factors:
1. Drivers who may have received prior complaints regarding behaviour.
2. Older or less well-maintained vehicles.
3. Last-minute bookings at the entry gate, often involving vehicles that were not pre-booked for various reasons.
4. Differences in driver experience and wildlife knowledge.
5. Drivers not maintaining the full three-hour safari duration.
6. At times, a lack of attentiveness to guest expectations — for example, even when visitors wish to spend more time observing wildlife within the forest, some drivers may be in a hurry to complete the circuit.
We always recommend booking through reliable and experienced operators to ensure a comfortable, respectful, and fulfilling safari experience.
