Day 2: Slow Mornings & Last Memories in Sonajhuri

Good morning everyone…

It was our last day in the serene lanes of Sonajhuri Forest, and we woke up early with an ambitious plan to explore more. But the rising temperature had its own plans—it slowed us down a little.
Hunger took over, so we stepped out for breakfast at Roshnai. A simple plate of hot luchi and aloor dum turned out to be the perfect start to our day—comforting and delicious. We returned to our Airbnb, freshened up, and then I took some time for a personal shoot (photos coming soon on my page 👀). The calm surroundings made it the perfect backdrop.
Later, we headed out again, planning to have lunch at Ram Shyam Restaurant, but by the time we reached (around 4:30 PM), lunch service was already over. A little unexpected—but that’s part of travel, right?
So, we moved on to Kasahara inside the beautiful Visva Bharati University campus. The food was good, and the peaceful environment made the experience even better.
After lunch, we spent about an hour strolling through the campus—soaking in the calm, the greenery, and the artistic vibe that Santiniketan is known for.We returned to our stay, had a light meal, and called it an early night since our train was scheduled at 7:40 AM from Prantik Railway Station the next day.

This short trip gave us exactly what we needed—peace, simplicity, and a break from routine.

Stay tuned for more on our next journey…

A Short Escape to Sonajhuri Forest

After months of nonstop work and no leaves, we were completely exhausted. Life felt repetitive and tiring—so we finally decided to take a short break. And the destination? The peaceful and artistic vibe of Sonajhuri Forest.
We booked tickets on the Vande Bharat Express and started early at 5:30 AM to catch our train from Howrah Station. The smooth journey itself felt refreshing, and by 10:30 AM, we reached Bolpur. Our Airbnb was perfectly located just 2–3 minutes walking distance from Sonajhuri Haat. Even though we arrived before check-in time, the host kindly allowed us to keep our luggage—such a warm welcome!! We stepped out for breakfast, choosing a small local food stall. With zero expectations, we were pleasantly surprised—the food was simple yet incredibly tasty. Sometimes, local street food beats everything else.

We had planned something fun—no extra clothes from home! Instead, we bought outfits from Sonajhuri Haat and wore them there. The earthy fabrics and handmade designs added a special charm to our trip.
Once we checked in, the Airbnb left us amazed. The aesthetics, the calm surroundings, and the thoughtful design made it feel like a peaceful retreat. The caretaker, a kind person from Khowai, added a personal touch to our stay. We headed to Ram Shyam Restaurant for lunch, and the food was delicious and satisfying. After that, exhaustion kicked in, and we spent the evening resting—just soaking in the calmness of Sonajhuri for that day.

Stay tuned for the last day.....

Today we visited Coffee House Classic at Mansatala, Uluberia, and it turned out to be a pretty good experience overall 😊

The place is not just a regular café—it also offers a banquet hall and even a mini cinema hall, which makes it quite unique for this area.
Coming to the food, the coffee was really good, and the food quality was decent enough to enjoy a relaxed outing.
The ambience was nice and lively, although it was a bit crowded when we visited. Still, it didn’t take away much from the overall experience.
All in all, it’s a good place to hang out with friends or family if you’re around Uluberia 👍

After finishing my work today, hunger hit hard—but there wasn’t any proper food joint around. So I walked into a STREET FOOD spot nearby… and honestly, it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise.

The ambience was calm, simple, and really soothing. Located right in front of Mother's Wax Museum , it’s a lovely place to pause, relax, and enjoy some good food.

Sharing their menu here—do visit if you’re around. A perfect little spot to spend some quality time with tasty comfort food. 🌮☕
