Recently, I visited a very remote village called Wakhen (for a famous bamboo trek) tucked away in the farthest corner of Northeast India, where mostly Khasi tribal families live! Around 20–25 families at most. No luxury, no modern comforts in terms of stay or food. All you are offered are simple bamboo houses and authentic local Khasi meals.
The nights were quite challenging, with innumerable little visitors like ants, spiders, moths, and insects. Communication was difficult too, as hardly anyone understood Hindi or English apart from their own language. But strangely, that became the greatest joy of all — discovering the greatest language in human history: “body language!!" 😇
Life there feels so simple, slow, and deeply connected to both humans and nature. That, perhaps, is my way of returning to the roots — responding to the most ancient calling imprinted in our genes. One word from where humanity itself emerged: Migration..
P.S- This is the happy meal that they have specially arranged considering our struggle with local breakfast items!! So in return I simply have turn this simple image to a real happy one. 😀
