"A dream does not become a reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work." - Colin Powell

Travellmonkey feels proud to introduce our super climber from Hyderabad - “Bharath Thammineni”, whose passion and determination are truly inspiring for millions of adventurous souls.

A journey of shattered plans to building his own company, A successful climb to Everest to various other peaks in between.

“ With my heart set on climbing Everest, I had no clue how to go for it, back then it was costing me 20 lakhs, which took me around 3 years to raise this fund.”

His first expedition was in 2015, which was shaken down by an earthquake, causing Bharath to climb back from the advanced base camp which is around 6000 meters plus.

“ There was a risk of losing the sponsor money because it's not easy for anyone to climb 8K peak in one go.

So, I had a plan B

To provide assistance and guidance to various climbers like me, who lack mountaineering experience I started with an expedition company

My dream to climb Everest finally came true in 2017 from the north face, afterwards which I fully invested myself in my company “boots and Crampons"

Satya aur Jeet : The victory tale of Mount Kanchenjunga

is the only second person from Uttar Pradesh to successfully climb Mount Kanchenjunga

After several failed attempts on Mount Annapurna (8091 meters), Satya came to Kanchenjunga base camp on the 4th of May.

“Satya don’t lose your mind”.

When I saw him returning from the top, the words that kept ringing from Bharath sparked new determination in me, and after an hour, I was at the top of Mount Kanchenjunga, after so many failed attempts on much smaller and simpler mountains.

We started from the final camp (camp 4) at 1830 hrs on 8th May and after 14.5 hrs of gruelling battle with mountain and weather elements, I was on the top, which took another 7 hours to come back to camp 4. It was 22 hours of the continuous climb up and down with only 1.5 litres of water and no food. And it took another day to reach the base camp where we finally had food after almost 48 hours.

Satya recalls hardship during this journey,

“ As Avalanche hit us, we saw wet snow rushing towards us so we held our hands together and decided without speaking that we have to jump as the wave approached to miss the first onslaught

With years of climbing experience and some good luck, we missed to front wave but we landed in a sea of fast-moving snow which thrashed us brutally. The only thought in my mind was to keep my face above the snow in order to breathe and after a few seconds when the avalanche subsided, we were all deep in snow with only our heads out.

As I was holding our safety rope with my right hand, my fingers got crushed between rope and snow with some injury. However, we quickly got out and ran as fast as we could as there were other avalanches coming behind us."

Travell_Monkey feels proud to represent 's Story of hardship and success to the world.

Satya ko rokna mushkil h nahi.. na mumkin hai 😎

Due to family commitments, the dream of climbing seems far away. However, things changed after meeting Bharath from Hyderabad with whom decided to attempt his climbing expedition again.

Then came the time when Satya finally decided to attempt climbing Mount Annapurna, the 10th highest peak.

“We started our first summit on 17th April, the weather looked good and we were all set” , however things took ugly turn when we moved towards the base. The fingers started getting cold, with no source of heat, it almost took us 2 hrs to reach."

It snowed all night, around 3.5 feet, Satya and his mate waited another day, however snow did not stop so they had to go back.

Satya started again on 25th april, by the time he reached camp 3, he was dehydrated which caused him to walk slow, however there was no stopping satya.

Stay tuned to know what happened to with ...

“ My story of failed attempts” 🏔️

8 years of several failed attempts and a big meltdown where Satya almost gave up on his climbing dream, came to a silver lining when he tasted the success of climbing the summit of Mount Kanchenjunga (8586 meters) the highest peak in India and the third-highest in the world.

“ Started with my passion in 2013 with a small trek to Triund in Himachal Pradesh, however my lack of experience mixed with high winds and heavy snow, made me turn back."

From someone falling ill, extreme weather conditions and avalanches, disappointment surrounded each expedition he was part of, however instead of accepting nature judgments he decided to invest his time learning mountaineering at Nehru Institute of Mountaineering Uttarkashi, and passed it out with flying grades.🤩

The next attempt that I made was Mount Nun (7135 meters), where our team gradually decreased from 4 members to 2 by the time we reached the final camp. However, one of our guides got sick, and to ensure his safe return, I had to abandon my summit yet again.”
