Where time stands still and the soul finds peace — a boat rests gently on the sacred waters of the Gomti, beneath the gaze of Teele Wali Masjid and old temples of Kudia Ghat.

The cool breeze carries whispers of divinity, wrapping the serene riverfront in calm and quiet wonder. Lucknow, in its soulful and divine form.

On the occasion of Independence Day, Lucknow Heritage Walks hosted a special free heritage walk at the historic Residency, led by our founder, Mr. Atif Anzar.

The walk highlighted the bravery and sacrifices of Indian freedom fighters, with a special focus on Begum Hazrat Mahal and the heroes of the 1857 uprising.
Participants explored the Residency complex in depth, including visits to St. Mary’s Church, the Imambara, and the mosque, gaining insights into the city’s rich legacy of resistance and resilience.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in remembering our heritage on this significant day. 🇮🇳

Lucknow Heritage Walks recently had the pleasure of guiding young minds of .lko through the historic Residency complex—an iconic site in the story of India’s First War of Independence, 1857.

Students were fascinated to learn about the bravery of Indian revolutionaries, especially under the leadership of Begum Hazrat Mahal, and also gained a unique perspective on British involvement during the siege.

They were surprised to discover that St. Mary’s Church, the third Anglican church in Lucknow, was built as early as 1810 AD by the British.

The walk also gave them a glimpse into the architectural beauty of the Imambara and mosque nestled within the Residency grounds.

Most importantly, the children were encouraged to reflect on their fundamental duties towards the protection and conservation of our shared heritage.

I would like to thank for providing me the opportunity to lead this walk and engage with the students.

At Lucknow Heritage Walks, we are dedicated to sparking curiosity and pride in our city’s rich past—especially among the youth. 🌿
