Announcement: In Memory of Er. Ramesh Sheth (1933 – 28 November 2025)
We share with deep respect the news of the passing of Er. Ramesh Sheth, Co-Founder and guiding force of VMS Consultants (Vakil Mehta Sheth Consulting Engineers). He passed away peacefully on 28 November 2025, at the age of 92.
Er. Ramesh Sheth was a pioneering structural engineer whose vision, discipline, and commitment to excellence helped shape VMS into one of India’s most respected engineering organizations. After completing his Master’s degree from Stanford University, he returned to India with the mission of elevating engineering practice in the country. Over the following decades, he contributed to the structural design of numerous industrial, commercial, and infrastructural projects and played a central role in advancing modern engineering standards—especially in structural steel and industrial facility design.
His leadership philosophy was rooted in integrity, rigor, and a deep sense of responsibility toward society. Equally impactful was his dedication to nurturing talent; generations of engineers were shaped by his guidance, clarity of thought, and unwavering belief in continuous learning.
Er. Sheth’s legacy is woven into the foundation of VMS—its culture, its values, and its engineering excellence. The structures he helped build and the professionals he mentored will continue to carry forward his ideals for years to come.
