This is my effort to push the limits of exhibition props beyond 2D and beyond mere prints. These inexpensive props conveyed the themes of the collection (tropical and metallic) quite effortlessly while adding to the overall look.

Nothing amuses a mother like the shirt sleeves that fall too short; or the jacket that can’t be zipped up the next winter; and yes, those ever changing marks on the height chart. To add to the cuteness of this integral part of any child’s nursery; here’s a handmade one. The burlap base retains the crafty character; while the pouches, envelops, note tags and plastic sleeves provide ample pockets to treasure some stupid memories from each mark. Two days back, my son turned two. Just as I was trying to accept that time does fly; I remembered the shoot handcrafted by us exactly a year back. The birthday boy is surrounded by small details that only his parents would know; the favorite toys that the family would like to not forget and simple props that a forgotten drawer in the house can supply. God knows we all do have the best intentions of making a scrapbook or a journal or writing a blog page after every vacation; but before we get to the sorting, jotting, cutting and gluing, we wanderers decide to travel again. We get busy in picking, booking and packing - the memories and the souvenirs get shoved away to make place for the new ones.

I hope to save the tangible memories of a friend from this fate. I made this wooden travel keepsake box for her with a space for everything she might want to treasure - photos, postcards, ticket stubs, maps, mementos. She can even preserve a shell or some sand in there and never feel far from the places she loved!!
Would it not be lovely to look back at the bottle cap and remember fondly how thirsty she was when she had uncorked it!!
