'Letters To My Son' is the incredible 6000 KM cycling journey by two Indian men who had no experience in endurance-cycling whatsoever. What started out as a mad adventure turned out to be the most emotional and spiritual experience for them. This film is a presentation of their ambitions, experiences and indeed....their lessons.

'Letters To My Son'

Almost 5 months back, when we set out on our cycling trip from Mumbai to Bangkok…we went for the love of cycling, adventure and the great outdoors. At that time we had little knowledge that it would impact us so greatly. What the road had in store for us was much, much more…

So with great pride, the Audacious Project presents ‘Letters To My Son’…a film on our ambitions, experiences and indeed…our lessons.

We do have a great many people to thank, for without them…we may not even have turned our first pedal. Aanchal Anita Dhara…my unwavering companion for life...my absolute pillar. She's also my support, partner-in-crime and a steady supply of 'aha' moments. With her by my side, I know I cannot fail. My brother-in-arms and a genuinely all around nice guy Chidambaram Vijay Kumar . This experience had bonded us forever. Our super-talented Cinematographer Srijan Chaurasia. Our families…who not just put up with our outrageous projects…but support them wholeheartedly, Seema Madan, Aanchal Anita Dhara, Lalit Madan, Gopal Krishan, Christine Madan, Om Madan, Puja Madan, Nidhi Dhara, Ritu Dhara, Nitin Dara. The dream-team behind our effort, who brought the science into our madness…our Physio(s), Nutritionist & Physical Trainer - Nikhil Latey, Sakshi Bali, Mihira A R Khopkar, Kruttika Ranjane.

We also had so many people join us along the way…fellow cyclists and enthusiasts who helped us with technical support, repairs and maintenance…or sometimes a great conversation over beer or a delicious glass of lassi. This close knit cycling community is what makes this sport so wonderful - Gary Thomas, Kishore Kale, Pranab Doley, Madhurjya Borah, Kaja Mohideen Moreh, Sujoy. A special Thank You to Aung Aung Maung for guiding us across Myanmar – your country is beautiful!

A tip of the hat for Anang Mohan Basu, Smruti Gokhale…our generous sponsors. Mitesh Mirchandani, Samir Gohel and Debashish Bhattacharjeesh, for your invaluable suggestions…it’s made our visual presentation so much better! Iqbal Nandra, Kamaldeep Singh Chhabra & Madhavan Menon…your assistance before we even began put us at the starting line with confidence. Roxanne Chinoy…thank you for bringing Facebook on board to help spread the word and get us a much higher visibility on social media

And before this becomes an Oscar speech with the dreaded music starting to fade in…finally it’s our pleasure to thank so many friends who supported us, wrote, called, posted, shared and gave us an almost daily dose of inspiration. You kept the excitement going for 62 full days!! – Richard Peters, Shikha Mutreja, Harish Tiwari, Anita Praj, Sneha Iype, Marjorie Rodrigues, Deepak Alexander, Jason Melanus, Kishore Iyyar, Pallavi Sheth, Harsha MG, Shradha Vasudeva Kaundinya, Aditi Kataria, Sasanka Sikder, Rajeib, Sandhya Anand, Anand MK, Anand Ramachandran, Charu Mathur, Ramon MV Chibb, Shalini Sethi, Manasi Sapre, Kalyani Rais, Praveen Kamble, Pratishtha Mane, Indrajit Ray, Farhin Khan, Amrita G Haldipur, Tarunjit Singh Bachher, Jatin Jhaveri, Richa Sharma, Vineeta Singh Rodrigues, Sanjay Savla, Nameeta Prakash, Astha Chopra, Radhika Nihalani, Rekha Nahar, Anurag Bali, Puushpa Tiwari, Amardeep Dhanju, Ritabrata Saha, Amrita Rupa Basu, Hrishikesh Bichu, Rima Paknikar Bichu, Shipa Gohel, Geetanjali Chugh Kothari, Jason Anthony, Chandrashekhar Karalkar, Averi Banerjee, Naren Kaushik, Varun Khullar, Hasan Jafri, Sagar Paranjpe, Umesh Shrikhande, Kamlesh Soni, Anupama Ahluwalia, Alpa Jobalia, Kapil Mishra, Rahul Ghosh, Kunal Chakravarty, Mayur Hola, Rajesh Ramaswamy, Sabyasachi Das, Nihar Mehta, Ravi Dixit, Lal Bahadur Rokaya, Pratik Sachin Sohani, Patrick Anand, Ketaki Ghoge

The awesome folks at Homegrown have raised their victory glasses for The Audacious Project with this lovely feature...it's our behind-the-scenes story...all the mini steps that finally led to Bangkok!!

Thank you, Julian Manning!! It's a heck of an article :)

5883 Kilometres, 62 days, 2 bicycles = 1 heck of a journey.

Day 62 - 80 Km
Cycling Mumbai to Bangkok

THE ROAD TO BANGKOK!

Today, as Aanchal and I sit in our hotel room…we’re strangely sleepy! We’ve gotten used to sleeping a maximum of 5 to 6 hours every night over the last two months, so for our bodies to suddenly demand more sleep is certainly new. We’re also a little uneasy and restless…speaking about small, mundane things to pass the time. There’s no intense discussion about the day’s ride, nothing to pack, unpack…no mad rush to get everything ready for the next day. Suddenly we’ve nothing to do…and that’s making us more restless!

62 days and 6000 Kilometres later…It’s done! There’s nothing more left to do, to plan, to think, to speak. It’s done!

We’ll celebrate, pop some champagne, relive the stories over and over again, maybe even run naked on Bangkok streets….but that’s tomorrow.
Today we sleep!

Goodnight! May we all dream big dreams
