Credit Card Detection Using Hidden Model ( )

In this project, we model the sequence of operations in card transaction processing using a hidden Markov model (HMM) and show how it can be used for the detection of frauds. An HMM is initially trained with the normal behavior of a cardholder. If an incoming credit card transaction is not accepted by the trained HMM with sufficiently high probability, it is considered to be fraudulent. At the same time, we try to ensure that genuine transactions are not rejected.

Handwritten Character Recognition Using Subsampling

A power packed project consisting of many algorithms to get the best of neural networks. While Handwritten Character Recognition not possible with just Neural Networks and the system getting exhausted because of its many layers, we could achieve the system fully working with high level of performance by bringing down the layers to 6. First and the Last being the Input and the Output layers respectively and middle 4 layers being Convolution Subsampling layers. Also to achieve fast convergence, tanh fn is used instead of logistic fn. Moreover tanh is symmetric while logistic is not.

Travelling Salesman Problem using Ant Colony Optimization Algorithm

The project uses Ant Colony Optimization Algorithm to solve the travelling salesman problem, in which the goal is to find the shortest round-trip to link a series of cities. The general algorithm is relatively simple and based on a set of ants, each making one of the possible round-trips along the cities. At each stage, the ant chooses to move from one city to another according to some rules. Developed in C # with a Map that plots cities and the path.

ITEM-TO-ITEM COLLABORATIVE FILTERING.

Recommender systems are being used by an ever increasing number of E-commerce sites to help consumers find products to purchase. What started as a novelty has turned into a serious
business tool. Recommender systems use product knowledge
either hand coded knowledge provided by experts or “mined” knowledge learned from the behavior of consumers to guide
consumers through the often overwhelming task of locating products they will like. This Project comprises implementation of 3 algorithms for product recommendations. Ecommerce websites take for.eg. amazon.com which recommends products to online customers of their interest. It uses Collaborative Filtering algorithm but a bit modified version of it patented by Amazon itself called as ITEM-TO-ITEM COLLABORATIVE FILTERING.
