Following our recent visit to the Government Residential School (GRS) Tissue, where we witnessed the disheartening condition of the hostel and the lack of basic amenities such as proper cooking tools and drinking water storage, the All Namsai District Students' Union (ANDSU) took the initiative to conduct a social service program on the school campus.

As part of our contribution, we provided wall clocks, ceiling fans, water bottles, study lamps, and water filters and many more essential items required by both the school and students to address the immediate needs of the students.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Chau Ahingsa Manchey for graciously supporting this effort by donating a volleyball, volleyball net, and carrom boards, which will bring much-needed recreational relief and encouragement to the students.

We also express our deepest thanks to Bright Foundation NGO for their generous donation of a gas cylinder and gas stove, helping the school ensure safer and more efficient cooking practices for the children.

Your kindness and timely support have not only brought tangible relief but also restored hope and motivation among the students and staff. Such goodwill goes a long way in uplifting educational institutions in need, and we remain ever grateful for your compassion and contribution.

At the heart of every effort made by ANDSU is our unwavering commitment to ensure that every single student, regardless of background or location, receives the same level of education and nurturing environment they need to grow, learn, and thrive. This is not just our mission—it is our duty.

Following our visit to GPS Lanka, the All Namsai District Students’ Union (ANDSU) proceeded to the Government Upper Primary School (GUPS), Tissue, and the Government Residential School (GRS) located within its premises to assess the condition of the institution.

Upon inspection, we found the infrastructure of GUPS Tissue to be in a deteriorated state, with pressing needs that must be addressed without delay. The school lacks basic amenities such as electricity, ceiling fans, desks, and benches, making it extremely difficult to provide a comfortable and effective learning environment for the students.

Even more alarming is the condition of the Government Residential School. The residential facility is operating in dire circumstances. There is no functioning kitchen, and the government has not provided firewood or LPG cylinders for cooking. In an extraordinary show of dedication, the cookman has been bringing his own personal LPG cylinder to prepare meals for the students. As no stove has been supplied, a makeshift traditional fireplace has been constructed to meet the basic cooking needs.

The facility also lacks clean drinking water, and the mess does not have a single table or bench—let alone a proper dining hall—for students to eat their meals. Furthermore, there are only a couple of bulbs and fans in such a big dormitory. This severely affects their ability to study or engage in any productive evening activities.

In light of these grave concerns, the All Namsai District Students’ Union makes an urgent and heartfelt appeal to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and the concerned departments to intervene immediately. The students of GUPS Tissue and the Government Residential School deserve a safe, clean, and enabling environment where their educational aspirations can be nurtured. We strongly urge the authorities to take swift action to upgrade the infrastructure, provide essential supplies, and restore the dignity of the residential schooling system in the area.

ANDSU will continue to stand firm in its commitment to ensure that every child in Namsai district receives the quality education and care they rightfully deserve.

A recent photograph circulating on social media showing students sitting on the floor in a classroom at Government Primary School (GPS), Lanka, drew widespread attention and concern. Upon learning of the situation, the All Namsai District Students’ Union (ANDSU) immediately contacted the DDSE, Namsai, and arranged for the provision of the necessary desks and benches. These were promptly transported and delivered to the school for the benefit of the students.

During our inquiry, we were informed that due to a gradual decline in student enrollment at GPS Lanka, plans are underway to merge the school in Emphum, to develop it into a full-fledged residential school.

ANDSU remains committed to ensuring quality education for the students of Namsai district. Our dedication to the welfare of students in Namsai and across Arunachal Pradesh will continue unwaveringly.

We held a Felicitation Programme at Government Secondary School, Manmow on 2nd July 2025. This event was not just a celebration of academic excellence, but also a testament to what collective effort, community support, and sheer determination can achieve.

We were deeply honoured to have Hon’ble Shri Chau Zingnu Namchoom, MLA of the 47th Namsai (ST) Constituency, as our Chief Guest. His presence brought immense encouragement to the students and to all of us working towards educational upliftment. We were equally privileged to welcome Shri C. R. Khampa, Deputy Commissioner of Namsai, as the Guest of Honour, whose support and kind words meant a great deal to us.

The occasion was further graced by the presence of the Superintendent of Police, Namsai, and the Deputy Director of School Education (DDSE), Namsai as Special Guests, whose commitment to youth and education continues to inspire.

As part of the programme, we proudly felicitated the Class X toppers of GSS Manmow, who brought immense joy to us all with their incredible performance. We also felicitated the Class XII toppers of Government Higher Secondary School, Namsai, honouring them for their dedication and excellence.

A special moment of recognition for Shri Dil Kumar Dorjee, the tutor who worked closely with the students of GSS Manmow and played an instrumental role in the school's academic turnaround. We also took time to honour all the well-wishers whose generous contributions and unwavering faith helped us reach this milestone.

We would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Shri Dozi Tana Tara, President of AAPSU, for donating whiteboards for every classroom at GSS Manmow, and to Shri Byabang Hapo Dui, Finance Secretary of AAPSU, for his generous donation of desktop computers, which has enhanced the digital learning capacity of the school.

In line with our earlier promise to support early childhood education, we also awarded Boghamur Anganwadi Centre — selected as the Best Anganwadi Centre — with essential items and a cash prize, recognising their dedication to grassroots learning and care.

We were truly grateful for the presence of our senior leaders, Gaon Buras, the All Tai Khamti Singpho Students’ Union (ATKSSU), the Singpho Youth Organisation (SYO), and the Manmow Youth, whose support has always strengthened our initiatives.

As we formally bid farewell to GSS Manmow, the school we had proudly adopted on 19th June 2024, we do so with our heads held high. What began with a worrying 22.22% pass rate turned into a story of hope and revival, culminating in a remarkable 57.89% pass percentage — the highest in three years. We believed in the students, the teachers, and the school, and they delivered.

We remain committed to striving for even better results and greater impact in the days to come.

On June 10, a tragic fire broke out in Kungsung, Namsai, reducing the home of Chau Supingta Moungkang to ashes. In a matter of moments, he lost all his belongings. Thankfully, no lives were harmed — but the loss is deeply felt.

In this difficult time, we, the All Namsai District Students' Union, have extended a small gesture of support by providing essential food items and some cash assistance to help him get through these challenging days.

We now humbly appeal to the kind-hearted people of Namsai to come forward and support Chau Supingta Moungkang in any way they can. Your generous contribution — no matter how big or small — will go a long way in helping him rebuild what was lost.

Let us stand together, as a community, and show that no one is ever alone in their time of need.

Yesterday,we successfully organized a peaceful and powerful mass rally from Children’s Park to the District Secretariat, Namsai. This movement was not just a march—it was a united voice rising in solidarity with the All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) to safeguard the identity, rights, and future of the indigenous people of Arunachal Pradesh.

We extend our deepest gratitude to every individual and organization who participated and stood shoulder to shoulder with us in this democratic protest. Special thanks to Tate Tayem (IPR Secretary, AAPSU), Kangku Kabak (Art & Cultural Secretary, AAPSU), Chau Sengkhun Manchey (Vice-Chairman, Communal Harmony, AAPSU), and Chau Miling Khangkio (Coordinator, AAPSU) for their presence, supervision, and unwavering support throughout the rally.

Our sincere appreciation goes out to All Tai Khamti Singpho Students Union - ATKSSU All Namsai Area Youth Association 2020-23 youth organisations, Youths of Chongkham , all the village-level youth organizations, Bazaar Committee,Namsai and numerous prominent youth leaders from across the district.

Together, we submitted a three-point memorandum demanding:

1. Deportation of illegal immigrants from Arunachal Pradesh

2. Review and cleansing of the state’s voter list to remove non-APST and dual entries

3. Transparency in land records and encroachment details involving Chakma and Hajong refugee settlers

These demands are not just administrative; they are vital to protect the socio-political fabric of Arunachal Pradesh. They represent the cry for justice, for preservation of indigenous rights, and for securing the future of our land and people.

This movement is not over—it is only the beginning. Let us continue to rise, resist, and reaffirm our collective identity.
