World Travels - The Parisian Macau, Macau

The Parisian Macau opened in 2016. The hotel has a popular casino, and numerous shops and restaurants. The theme of the hotel is the glorious city of Paris. There are replicas of several of the city's main landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, Place de la Concorde, Place Vendome, Arc de Triumph, Moulin Rouge, and Opera Garnier. The Eiffel Tower replica is 500 feet tall - elevators take visitors to the summit, for great views of Macau's Cotai Strip.

World Travels - Marble Boat, Summer Palace, Beijing (China)

Beijing's Summer Palace was the imperial retreat of the Qing Dynasty. The current complex dates back to the reign of Empress Qianlong, who ruled from 1736 to 1795. Empress Dowager Cixi had the complex rebuilt twice, in 1860 and in 1902, after it was damaged. The highlights of the Summer Palace include the Temple of the Fragrance of the Buddha, the Temple of the Sea of Wisdom, the Long Corridor and the Marble Boat.

Guangzhou's Shaman Island is a 1 km long island that was leased to the British and the French after China lost the Second O***m War (1856 - 1860). The island has its strong European influence, with its churches, its grand villas, and its statues. Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel is one of the main landmarks on Shaman Island.

World Travels - HSBC Building and Standard Chartered Building, Statue Square, Hong Kong

Hong Kong's Statue Square lies in the heart of the city's financial district. The square gets its name from the statue of Sir Thomas Bart that is situated here. The landmarks around the square include the HSBC Building (with its majestic bronze lion statues), the Standard Chartered Building, the Bank of China Building, and the beautifully domed Legislative Council Building (previously the Supreme Court Building, with a blind-folded statue of Themis, the Greek goddess of justice).

World Travels - Buddha Statue, Yonghe Gong Hall, Lama Temple, Beijing (China)

Beijing's Lama Temple dates back to the 17th century. The temple has several halls running sequentially. The halls include the Yonghe Gate Hall with its Laughing Buddha, the Yonghe Gong Hall with its three manifestations of Buddha, the Falun Hall with its Tsongkhapa statue, and the Wanfuge Pavilion with its 17 meter tall sandalwood statue of Maitreya.

Macau's The Venetian opened in 2007. The grand hotel has close to 3,000 rooms, a large casino, and a huge shopping area with stores and plush restaurants lying along canals featuring typical Venetian gondola rides. The hotel has replicas of some of Venice's best known landmarks, including St Mark's Campanile, the Dogge's Palace, and Rialto Bridge. The Venetian remains one of Macau's most popular hotels.
