A secluded little place situated deep inside the forests surrounding Bhira dam. There is a hydroelectric power generation unit by Tata power at Bhira. This place was little known to trekkers till recent times and has come into limelight due to the waterfall present deep inside the forest.

It is believed that Kundalika river originates at Devkund.

Though there isnโ€™t much history associated with the falls, locals here believe that once upon a time utensils used to emerge from the kund (pond) whenever there was any auspicious ceremony happening in the local village.

True or not, the place has its own charm with the water dropping from a height of over 80 ft straight into a pond of approx. 30 mt diameter.

How to reach:
The trail begins from the open parking area at Bhira. It is a well laid path with direction boards at regular intervals. Unlike common belief, chances of getting lost in the forest are almost nil. In fact, the trail is better laid than a few famous treks in Maharashtra.

Kundalika valley hold some of the amazing weekend gateways place around Mumbai & Pune Places like Andharban Trek (The Dark Forest), Devkund WaterFall, Kolad Water Rafting, Lohagad Fort, Rajmachi Point, Tamhini Ghat and it's a strange place with two huge mountain walls separated by a narrow valley. The valley is all hidden behind clouds. Clouds plays hide n seeks all the time.

The moment you take the turn towards the valley, the climate changed. Small lanes of road surrounded by dense forest on both side and trees making it darker, surrounded by clouds, making it more pleasant ride. Also crawling of unusual bird all around and the chirps of the birds are amazing.

Do You Know that you can even do White Water Rafting in Bhutan?

Most of the rivers in Bhutan are very steep and highly rushing with limited road access makes it considerably unsuitable for white water rafting.
Only a few rivers are opened for rafting considering their safe course and easy access.

The Pho Chu, with its approx 10 km course with about 9 rapids of class 2 โ€“ 3+ is the most popular for rafting in Bhutan followed by Mo Chu river with 10 Km course comprising around 10 rapids with 1 โ€“ 2+ rapids.

Rivers in Bhutan also offer great potential for Kayaking as well.
