- Trekking : The treks of the Lidder Valley have been described as the most popular trekking routes outside Nepal with some of the most scenic alpine views. Pahalgam is the take off point for treks to the Kolahoi Glacier, several high altitude lakes like Tarsar and Harnag, and to Sonmarg via the Yemhar, Harbhagwan or Mahagunas passes. The most important trek however is the pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave on the August full moon [Amarnath Yatra].
- Trout Fishing : The Lidder River has excellent trout fishing beats for brown trout. The fishing season stretches from April to September. Permits are issued, for a maximum of three days at a time, on a first-come-first-serve basis and are charged on a per day per rod basis. Fishing equipment can be hired in Srinagar. Live baits and spinning are not allowed. For permits contact the Directorate of Fisheries, Nehru Park, Srinagar.
- River Rafting : Facilities are available for River-rafting on the amateur-level rapids of the Lidder. It is exhilarating and enormous fun. Children below 12 years are not allowed.
- Golf : Pahalgam has a 18-hole golf course, which can be used by tourists on a pay and play basis. Golf sets can be hired from the Golf Club premises.
- Deer Park : A deer park is being established by The Department of Wildlife in Pahalgam where visitors can glimpse several varieties of deer and other wildlife creatures.
