The Solo Globetrotter

The Solo Globetrotter A travelogue of a rambler After working as a software engineer for about 6 years, I now pursue the two loves of my life - traveling and writing.

What started as frequent trips led to longer backpacking trips, and finally the wanderlust in me started finding happiness on the road. I have started out small on my itchy feet, with dreams of traveling to as many places in the beautiful world. I backpack on a shoestring budget, have a penchant for traveling solo whenever possible.I derive delight in exploring offbeat places and love living with

the locals and to get to know them. I uphold responsible traveling. Join me here in my journeys on the road.

A note to all the women out there, including me when I need to remind myself!

**** Never give up on loving yourself, your dreams, goals and desires. No matter how impossible it may seem, which on somedays it feels like, because things will manifest if you put your heart and soul into them.

Trust yourself and believe even when none does. Go after what you want without fear and doubts. We can create the lives we want as long as we don’t give up!

It is never too late to live your life, no matter what your circumstances have been.

Take care of your mind, body, and love yourself. Because if you don’t love yourself enough, how will you let others know how to be treated?

And most importantly, never stop having fun, laugh and live a little everyday😃😇❤️❤️❤️

I had not thought I would be saying this, but wine tasting is total fun! I am a whiskey and beer girl, and wine or exploring vineyards was not particularly higher on my list, but finally I did it and I am surprised to say that I think I should give wine a fair chance from now on😉 What do you love? 🍾 🥃 Or ?

If you have been following my stories on Instagram where I have been more active, you would know that I changed my trip plans to travel in other states after a brief stint in the beautiful North East India. One of the stops was Orissa, probably another underrated state in India. I visited the famous UNESCO heritage site - Sun Temple in Konark, which is absolutely fascinating. This 13th century temple built in Odisha architectural style is so rich in sculptures that are detailed & perfect. Also loved one of the lesser-known Chilika Lake, which meets the ocean dramatically at an edge of our coastline. Witnessed the sand art on the famous Puri beach, meeting these talented artists who create beautiful sand sculptures. Here is a glimpse of a bit of Orissa in pictures.😁

*New Blog Post* I recently stayed at Loktak Aquamarine Floating Homestay and Campsite on the Loktak Lake, the largest freshwater lake in North East India. It was a unique experience to be cut off from the city, to wake up to some splendid views. Here is my blog post about my experience there. It is quite affordable at 1000 INR per person for a day, which includes breakfast and dinner. If you are visiting Loktak, you know where to stay😁
