India's first ever women driven fleet for working women employees of an IT conglomerate , BMC Software was launched today in association with Wings Sakhi, a women empowerment and safety initiative by Wings Travel Management. There will be 5 cabs deployed for the travel service of women employees of BMC Software which will be later added with another 10 cabs. The service can also be availed by pregnant women from the company. Present for the launch were Tarun Sharma, CEO, BMC Software and Arun Kharat, Founder, Wings Travel Management. The service will also be launched in Bangalore where BMC Software has its corporate office.

Make In India, "I" for India

We have been reading a lot about Make In India campaign. There were thousands of people and mascots of lions swarmed the weekend opening of a "Make in India" drive in Mumbai. It is said that it is one of the biggest initiative by the Ministry so far under the leadership of the new government.

It is time that Indian artists and designs get the desired respect apart from India's manufacturing industry. It's am sure is not just a hype and we will see the sea change in the approach in the years to come. As far as Team One's views are concerned we feel the initiative cannot only about investments but also about preserving the existing creativity of India.

The Coimbatore-based IDF, with its programme-director Suprita Moorthy, is organizing the February 17 ‘Empowering through Design’ conference at the Make in India Week, to explore how design can boost national and global economies – in manufacturing, architecture, 3D Printing, design in public, office and living places for this changing mind-matter phenomenon called ‘I’. Wings Rainbow aims to empower and improve the socio economic indicators of sexual minority communities by providing life skills and livelihood opportunities.
Wings Travels in association with The Humsafar Trust a Community Based Organization that works with the LGBT community will initiate a pilot skill development program to kick start the program that will focus on training the LGBT community to drive radio cabs. The pilot program will empower five members of the gay and transgender community to apply for learner’s licenses and complete their training in getting a certified All India Drivers License.
