The SSRSM took the challenge of making it – more visitors friendly & accessible to the people. In 1994, with insurmountable energy & resolute Leadership of (late) Shri V. Jog alias Dadasaheb Jog, Jog Engineering Limited (JEL) took up this Herculean challenge to construct this Ropeway. He was fired by indomitable National interest. This Engineering Enigma & awe-inspiring Ropeway came into being by his own personal investments. He battled all odds. He entered into a Build, Operate and Transfer Agreement (BOT) with SSRSM. The magic moment of its fructification came on 3rd April 1996, when it was inaugurated by (Late) Prof. Rajendrasinhji, the then Sarasanghchalak, RSS. Gone were the shackles of inaccessibility. The impregnable Fort was thrown open to all - the young children, Old & disabled alike. Fort Raigad is often called as Gibraltar of East due to its inaccessibility. That was now made accessible . A dream fulfilled at last ! The Ropeway was duly handed over to SSRSM by JEL in 1st March, 2014. And now the responsibility of its operation & maintenance vests in Millennium Properties Pvt. Ltd (MPPL). In any case, MPPL was firmly in saddle since Feb 2004, operating and maintaining this Ropeway on behalf of JEL. Immaculate maintenance schedule followed by MPPL is our strength.
