It was a Weekend and we were bored. Had nothing to do. Sun was red hot outside and we were hesitating to go anywhere. But then decided to just take the car keys and move somewhere so that by the time we reach there it would be evening. And we travelled all the way to Lavasa.
An evening in lavasa was amazing. It was so cool outside there. Cold breeze was continuously flowing over us. We just kept our car windows open while we were getting near.
A description of Lavasa as a city:
Lavasa is a private, planned city being built near Pune. It is stylistically based on the Italian town Portofino, with a street and several buildings bearing the name of that town.
A 25,000 acres or 8,000 acres project being developed by HCC, this as-yet-incomplete city has been controversial for multiple reasons including procurement of land, harm to the environment, and loans acquired through political corruption.
A sunset in this planned city is worth watching. Sunset to be seen from the Bridge constructed over the lake. The bridge is so stylish and has a Italian touch.
In the night, city is brightened by excellent lighting. Even though its incomplete city, but looking at the infrastructure it looks fully complete.
Food stalls are enough to fill your stomach. Indian, Chinese, Italian and Street food. You name it and you have it. The food is served in front of the lake so that you dont require AC restaurant. Nice, cool and natural wind makes you feel wow while you have your food.
We left from there by 10 pm. It was quite late as the roads reaching lavasa become very much lonely in night. No one is there on road except some trucks and bikes. But its thrilling.
Few things to be remembered while travelling to lavasa:
1] Entry fee of Rs. 100
2] Public toilets are not maintained. So make sure you prepare your mind and body for half n hour atleast to get the clean toilets. Toilets are only available in food court and hotels.
3] If you are group of guys travelling then late night drive is good but then too take precautions. If a guy and girl are going then make sure you stay late night. If a group of guys and girls are going, take precautions while travlling back late night. This is because roads are empty with no lights and garage/Mechanic facility.
In short, Lavasa is excellent for short weekend drive and stay. So, this weekend just take out your bike or car and just step into this incomplete (rather fully complete) and Italian planned city. Rains are coming and this city will be heaven to visit again in rains.
