BEFORE-AFTER Pics

''Leave only your footprints behind'' has been a common adage in the travel community since a long time. Legend has it that the phrase traces its origin to a 19th century Native American chief, Chief Seattle.

It simply means leaving back nothing when you visit a fragile, sensitive eco-system. That of course applies to garbage in the modern sense but actually it's more than that. We only remember half of that proverb. What Chief Seattle actually said was, ''Take only memories, leave only footprints.''
Not only are we supposed to not leave behind anything but also not take anything away.

Remote locations like forests, islands, wetlands etc are very delicate ecosystems and each constituent part plays an important role. A sea shell you take away can house a hermit crab. A shiny piece of stone could be shelter of soil organisms. A flower you pluck could feed countless bees.

In the same way, if we introduce something foreign to the ecosystem, we run the risk of it being toxic or invasive.

I know I sound preachy but as I think this is the least we can do for places which allow us to camp there. As it evident from the before-after pictures, we at always properly dispose off our waste. We're not perfect yet, but we're getting there.

Thanks for reading this far. See you at camp!

Camp Diaries: #1
After The Night Storm

This story dates back to almost two years ago. was visiting me in BBSR and we had planned a camping trip along with a college friend of ours and his colleagues.

During those days we used to camp on Chandrabhaga Beach in Konark. It was a pretty set thing, everything began and progressed as usual. By midnight we were done with our dinner and retired to our tents. I had observed a slight increase in the wind speed but didn't take much notice of it.

Later that night, I was woken by a faint scratching sound on my tent. Must have been 1 o'clock. It didn't take much time for the realisation to hit. A nasty storm had brewed outside and it was our camp dog scratching on the tent's door flap. I immediately unzipped and let him in. It was pretty evident he was shaken up by the thunderstorm and the howling wind.

Now, by camp dog I do not mean I owned the dog. He was a beach stray who had taken a certain likeliness to us. Every saturday when we used to camp on the beach, he would invite himself to join us and patiently wait for us to feed him. In return, he provided a sense of security. It had become our thing.

I felt the need to assess the situation outside. I peeked outside and the wind was blasting like crazy. Grains of sand jabbed my face with immense intensity. The tent was completely leaning on our bodies. Covering my face with a towel, I peeped outside. I wanted to make sure we weren't too close to the water. Thankfully we were camped too far from the sea and there was no tide like situation. Second thing I did was call my friends and make sure they were doing fine in their respective tents. The storm had woken them as well but I maintained that as long as we stayed inside our tents, we would be fine. I would have to give it to , their tents are sturdy af. The storm lasted for around 5 hours.

Next morning, we woke up to a beautiful sunrise and a marvelous weather. It is true what they say about mornings after storms being the most beautiful. The pic shows us packing after that terrible but adventurous night nonetheless. We had our breakfast and left.

What are you doing this saturday?

How about you join me on a day's adventure and savour the true flavor of camping in the wilderness? 😎

I'll take you to an offbeat island in the chilika lake where we set ourselves up for the night and just have fun. Good food and conversations flow freely. Play music, sing, dance, do whatever the heart desires. Go on beach walks along the beautiful coastline of bay of bengal or the lake. Yep we're closer to both. Or just stare at the stars which shine brighter devoid of any light pollution. 🤩

Have a hearty dinner and retire to sleep at your ease. The crashing waves of the sea gently rock you to sleep while the jackals howl in the background in melancholy.

Wake up to a beautiful sunrise over the Bay of Bengal and gorge on some chai and filling breakfast. You can go chill in the calmer waters of the lake while we pack up for the day.

The trip still hasn't come to an end and we ride (sail?) our boat to our Dolphin viewing spot. Irrawady dolphins are majestic creatures but elusive nonetheless. But we have a record of always being able to spot dolphins on all our trips. 😍😉

If you are willing to give this one day of your life to me, I promise to do my best to show you a good time. Sadly insta only allows 10 pictures but you can see all our pictures from our previous posts in our profile. Or just ping me on whatsapp on any of the above numbers and I'll share some more pictures with you.

DM/Call/Whatsapp on 9583656576/8249232041 for any details. See you soon!

Adventure and rawness of nature are at the core of 's values. We do not shy away from exploring the nature in all its glory while also being moderately comfortable. Be it night walks to the beach to admire the full moon or randomly stopping at any island to collect sea shells or just cool off in the water. We believe being too comfortable stops us from noticing the things, the beauty around us. A peaceful sleep under the stars is so much more better than dancing to loud music all night. Spotting a wild boar is so much more better than being glued to our phones. Eating local food is so much more better than fancy expensive takeaways.
I could go on and on. 😁

Join me next Saturday?

Last saturday I had lots of fun with old friends and new. We saw the most dolphins we have ever seen, played catch with sea gulls with kurkure 😋, gazed at shining eyes of foxes on our island and even saw a big ass wild boar, which honestly scared the s**t out of me 😂😅. Is this much adventure enough for you?

It was full moon and that's when the camp is at its glorious best.
Night walks on the beach, star gazing, lively conversations around the bonfire and yum food made by yours only. 🙋‍♂️

Words cannot do justice to what you will feel once you join me for a good night camping with your friends.
So call me on 9583656576/8249232041 for a wonderful experience.
