⚠️ Weather Alert for Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand ⚠️

Between July 5th and 9th, many regions in Himachal Pradesh are expected to receive intense to extremely heavy rainfall, with July 6th forecasted as the day with the highest intensity. The IMD has issued a Red Alert for several districts, including Kullu, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, Chamba, Solan, Sirmaur, Una, Hamirpur, and Bilaspur.

Similar weather patterns are predicted in Uttarakhand, increasing the chances of flash floods, landslides, and road closures.

🚧 Essential Travel Advisory:

🔴 Avoid all non-essential travel to the hills during this period—your safety is the top priority.

📲 Follow official updates from the IMD, state disaster departments, and local authorities for real-time weather and road information.

🌘 Avoid night travel—low visibility and slippery terrain pose serious risks.

🌊 Stay away from rivers, streams, and vulnerable slopes to avoid the risk of flash floods or sudden landslides.

🎒 Carry emergency supplies like dry food, drinking water, warm clothing, medications, torchlight, and a power bank.

📍 Inform loved ones about your travel route and expected check-ins—especially when heading to remote or interior regions.

🛣️ Anticipate delays, diversions, and blocked routes. Keep your plans flexible and allow for buffer time.

🥾 Postpone outdoor activities like treks, pilgrimages, and adventure drives in high-risk zones until conditions improve.

🚨 Do not underestimate weather warnings—stay safe, stay informed, and reconsider travel unless it’s absolutely necessary.

🏠 Better safe than sorry—stay indoors and wait for the situation to stabilize.

🚨 Kedarnath Yatra Update – June 26, 2025 🚨

Due to continuous heavy rainfall in the region, massive landslides have disrupted the Kedarnath Yatra once again. The route between Sonprayag and Munkatiya has been severely affected, with falling debris and blocked paths.

🧍‍♂️ 1,269 pilgrims have been safely rescued by SDRF, NDRF & local authorities. The rescue teams are working tirelessly to clear the route and ensure everyone’s safety.

⚠️ Fresh rockfalls continue to occur, especially in exposed areas like Kakra Gad. Authorities are urging yatris to:
✅ Travel only in daylight
✅ Avoid glacier zones or risky shortcuts
✅ Stay connected with local rescue teams
✅ Follow official advisories and updates

Meanwhile, the Badrinath highway near Govindghat is also blocked due to falling boulders. Road clearance is ongoing.

🙏 Stay safe and alert, fellow yatris. Let’s cooperate with the authorities and avoid unnecessary risks during this sacred journey.

After Security Review, LG Manoj Sinha Orders Reopening of Key Tourist Spots Across J&K

Srinagar, June 14: In a significant development aimed at reviving tourism and easing restrictions, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has reopened several major tourist destinations that had been closed in the aftermath of heightened security operations under Operation Sandoor. The decision was officially announced today by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha.

The list of reopened locations includes Betab Valley, Verinag, Kokernag, Achabal Park, Badamwari (Srinagar), Neegan Park (Srinagar), Taqdeer Park near Hazratbal, and several public parks in the Jammu region. These places were closed temporarily due to security concerns, but following thorough assessments by law enforcement and intelligence agencies, it was concluded that the situation has improved enough to safely allow public movement.

Speaking on the occasion, LG Manoj Sinha said that restoring normal life while maintaining public safety is a top priority for the administration. “The decision reflects our confidence in the improved ground situation. We invite people to visit these locations and enjoy the natural beauty of our Union Territory,” he said.

Security has been strengthened around all reopened sites. Local police units, paramilitary forces, and civil administration will ensure the safety of tourists and locals alike. Monitoring systems have been activated, and security personnel will remain deployed in key areas to maintain a secure environment.

Tourism stakeholders have welcomed the move. Local business owners, hotel associations, and tour operators expressed optimism, hoping this step will bring back visitors ahead of the Amarnath Yatra and the upcoming festive season.

“This reopening is a positive signal for both the tourism sector and the general public. It sends a message of stability and progress,” said a senior tourism official based in Anantnag.

Authorities have advised visitors to remain alert and cooperative with security agencies. Public gatherings, events, and tourism activities will resume gradually, depending on ongoing reviews of the situation.

The reopening of these destinations marks a step forward in Jammu and Kashmir’s journey toward normalcy and development. The administration has assured continued monitoring and quick response to any potential challenges that may arise.

A problem that repeats every year, yet no action is taken! This time, we faced a 7-hour long traffic jam near Chandratal —• 2 hours while going towards Chandratal• 5 hours while returning from Chandartaal at same point . The main issue: a small rivulet water crossing where non-4x4 vehicles keep getting stuck due to off-road conditions. This leads to massive jams just 3 km before Chandratal, in a high-altitude, low-oxygen zone, with no basic facilities and no administration on ground. We stepped in to help and pulled out nearly 50 stranded vehicles using our tow ropes and recovery equipment — but this isn’t a permanent solution.⚠️ We strongly appeal to the government and administration:Please construct a small bridge at this water crossing to avoid these life-risking situations for tourists every year. This issue has been ongoing since this patch was opened — it’s time for permanent action. BJP Himachal Pradesh Indian National Congress - Himachal Pradesh
