This hilarious and heartwarming image shows a baby elephant in Chiang Mai, Thailand, who briefly became the world's most adorable criminal. The young elephant was caught "red-handed" attempting to steal a sweet treat—a meal of sugarcane—from a local farm.
Upon realizing that humans had spotted its mischief, the elephant reacted instinctively, rushing to hide behind the nearest light pole. The resulting image, captured after a local shone a spotlight on the scene, shows the enormous animal standing perfectly still, seemingly convinced that if its head and trunk were mostly obscured by the narrow pole, it would become invisible.
