CONE : Presense of mind.

Moishe the Carpenter, returning home with his week's wages, was accosted by an armed robber on a deserted street.

"Take my money," said Moishe, "but do me a favour: shoot a bullet through my hat otherwise my wife won't believe I was robbed."

The robber obliged. He threw Moishe's hat into the air and put a bullet through it.

"Let's make it look as if I ran into a gang of robbers," said Moishe, "otherwise my wife will call me a coward! Please shoot a number of holes through my coat."

So the robber shot a number of holes through the carpenter's coat.

"And now…"

"Sorry," interrupted the robber. "No more holes. I'm out of bullets."
"That's all I wanted to know!" said Moishe. "Now hand me back my money and some more for the hat and coat that you've ruined or I'll beat you black and blue!"

The robber threw down the money and ran.

Moral : It’s never too late to use our brains to get out of a difficult situation!!

CONE : Never GiveUp

For research some marine biologist started to do an experiment. For this they place a Shark into large tank and then released several small fishes in the same tank.

As shark and fishes were left in tank after sometime shark swam around and attacked around and ate all the small fishes.

Now, next time biologist inserted a strong piece of clear fibre glass in middle of tank creating to separate partitions one for small fishes and other for shark alone.

Now again as sharks and fishes were left, shark started to attack but this time shark slammed into the fibre glass inserted in the tank. However the shark kept repeating this behaviour again and again. Meanwhile all the small fishes used to swam around it unharmed behind the fibre glass. Eventually after some hour shark gave up and stopped attacking.

Same experiment was repeated for several days. Biologist noticed change in behaviour of shark. Now, shark was less aggressive and made lesser attempt to attack small fishes. With time shark simply got tired and stopped attacking.

After this biologists removed the fibre glass from the tank but even after removal of glass shark didn’t attack Because shark was not trained to believe that a barrier existed between it and smaller fishes. After this smaller fishes swam with shark in same tank unharmed.

Moral : After experiencing Setbacks and Failures again and again most of us Emotionally Give Up and Stop trying. We start to believe that because we failed in past we will Fail every time But that’s just a Barrier in our Head. So, we should keep on working without fear of Failure.

CONE : GRAB THE OPPORTUNITIES

It’s a story of young man who wanted to marry beautiful daughter of farmer. He went to father to ask for permission to marry his daughter.

Farmer looked at him and said, “I will allow you to marry my daughter but you have to full fill one condition.”

Further he continued and told him condition, “Son go out and stand out in field. A am going to release three bulls one at a time and you have to grab tail of any of three bulls. if you can catch tail of any one of three bulls then you can marry my daughter.” Young man went to field and stood there waiting for bulls to be released.

The barn door opened and came out one of the biggest bull he had ever seen. So he decided to let this one go and wait for second bull. So he went over to side and let bull pass through.

Again next time barn opened for second bull. This one was bigger and even more fierce than previous bull. This time again boy thought that may be next one could be better choice so he ran to side and let bull pass through.

Now door opened for third and came last bull. Boy got a big smile on his face. This was the weakest bull he had ever seen. So he positioned himself and was all set to take on bull and grab his tail.

As bull came running by he jumped at exact movement. As he threw his hands to grab tail to his surprise this bull had NO Tail.

Moral : Life is full of Opportunities. So Grab the first one.

CONE : Dream + Hard Work = Success

Its story of a poor man who was extremely lazy. He always dreamt of being rich and still didn’t want to work for it. He used to ask for alms even just to feed himself.


Luckily one morning he got a pot of milk as alms. He was very happy. He went home with that pot and boiled it, drank some of it and added curd to remaining of it to turn it into curd.


He laid down and soon feel asleep. While sleeping he dream about getting rich one day and his thoughts were turned to pot of milk he got that day.


He dreamt, “By morning the pot of milk will be turned to curd. once the curd is set he can churn it to get butter out of it. Then make ghee out of that butter. Once he get the Ghee, he would sell it in the market and with that money he will buy a hen and hatch its eggs. There will be many chickens with which he will soon have a poultry farm of his own.


He kept on imagining that, “After selling his poultry and buying some cows he can open a dairy far.


All the people will buy milk from him and then he will be rich soon and will buy jewels which he can sell to king. He will be so rich that he will marry a beautiful girl and soon will have a handsome son. If son will do any mischief, he will beat him with a big stick.” During this dream he unknowingly picked up stick laying near him and started moving it thinking of beating his son in dream. Suddenly one he hit the pot and broke it.


When he woke up all the milk was spilled out of pot.

Moral : No Dream can Be fulfilled Without Hard work.

HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY

CONE : Which employee type are you ?...... Date: 07-03-2016, Monday

Employee "A" in a company walked up to his manager and asked what my job is for the day? The manager took "A" to the bank of a river and asked him to cross the river and reach the other side of the bank. "A" completed this task successfully and reported back to the manager about the completion of the task assigned.

The manager smiled and said "GOOD JOB"

Next day Employee "B" reported to the same manager and asked him the job for the day. The manager assigned the same task as above to this person also. The Employee "B' before starting the task saw Employee "C" struggling in the river to reach the other side of the bank. He realized "C" has the same task. Now "B" not only crossed the river but also helped "C" to cross the river.

"B" reported back to the manager and the manager smiled and said "VERY GOOD JOB"

The following day Employee "Q" reported to the same manager and asked him the job for the day. The manager assigned the same task again. Employee "Q" before starting the work did some home work and realized "A", "B" & "C" all has done this task before. He met them and understood how they performed. He realized that there is a need for a guide and training for doing this task. He sat first and wrote down the procedure for crossing the river, he documented the common mistakes people made, and tricks to do the task efficiently and effortlessly.

Using the methodology he had written down he crossed the river and reported back to the manager along with documented procedure and training material. The manger said "Q" you have done an "EXCELLENT JOB".

The following day Employee "O' reported to the manager and asked him the job for the day. The manager assigned the same task again. "O" studied the procedure written down by "Q" and sat and thought about the whole task. He realized company is spending lot of money in getting this task completed. He decided not to cross the river, but sat and designed and implemented a bridge across the river.

and went back to his manager and said, "You no longer need to assign this task to any one".
The manager smiled and said "Outstanding job 'O'. I am very proud of you."

What is the difference between A, B, Q & O? Many a times in life we get tasks to be done at home, at office, at play.,
Most of us end up doing what is expected out of us. Do we feel happy? Most probably yes. We would be often disappointed when the recognition is not meeting our expectation. Let us compare ourselves with "B". Helping someone else the problem often improves our own skills. There is an old proverb "learn to teach and teach to learn". From a company point of view "B" has demonstrated much better skills than "A" since one more task for the company is completed.

"Q" created knowledge base for the team. More often than not, we do the task assigned to us without checking history. Learning from other's mistake is the best way to improve efficiency. This knowledge creation for the team is of immense help. Re-usability reduces cost there by increases productivity of the team. "Q" demonstrated good "team-player" skills.

Now to the outstanding person, "O" made the task irrelevant; he created a Permanent Asset to the team.

If you notice B, Q and O all have demonstrated "team performance" over and above individual performance; they have also demonstrated a very invaluable characteristic known as "INITIATIVE".

Moral : Initiative pays of everywhere whether at work or at personal life. If you have initiative you will succeed. Initiative is a continual process and it never ends. This is because this year's achievement is next year's task. You cannot use the same success story every year. The story provides an instance of performance, where as measurement needs to be spread across at least 6-12 months. Consequently performance should be consistent and evenly spread. Out-of-Box thinkers are always premium and that is what everyone constantly looks out for. Initiative, Out-of-Box thinking and commitment are the stepping stone to success.

Initiative should be lifelong. Think of out of the box

CONE : THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU ACT........ as on 29-02-2016

Once upon a time there lived two frogs in a marsh. They were very happy with their lot there.

But as the hot summer approached the marsh began to dry up. In a few days, the marsh got totally dry. So, the frogs decided to leave that place and look out for some other shelter for themselves and reached a deep well. They sat on the edge of the well and peeped inside it.

It had a lot of water in it. One of the frogs got so overjoyed to see the water that it at once said, "This well looks quite a fit place for us to live. It will be cool and safe inside. Let's jump in.

" The other frog was wise enough and replied, "Not so soon, my friend! We left the marsh when it had dried up. So, first think how we shall come out of this well if it gets dry.

The first frog was speechless, as he had realized that one must think before taking any step.

Moral: Think twice before you act for any situation. It is very vital to analyze the effects of the steps taken by you.
